Citizens should give their best contribution in making the country strong and prosperous: Governor Shri Patel
Bhopal: On the auspicious occasion of Republic Day, Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has called upon the citizens to give their best in building a strong and prosperous country. Follow the rights and duties given by the Constitution with full loyalty and commitment in your conduct and behavior. Assimilate the ideals of freedom fighters, Baba Saheb Ambedkar and members of the Constituent Assembly in your life. He said that I am proud that the people and the system in the state are participating in the new journey of public service, good governance and all-round development of the state with equal spirit, dedication and passion under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi by making the concept of self-reliant India the basic mantra. Governor Shri Patel was addressing the state level Republic Day celebrations organized at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal.
Governor Shri Patel hoisted the national flag at the ceremony. He released balloons in the sky and inspected the parade by taking salute. He observed the presentation of cultural programs, traditional folk dances and tableaus. He also got a group photo taken with the parade commanders. Governor Shri Patel said that the citizens of the state have presented the ideal of a vigilant and active republic by planting 5.5 crore saplings in Prime Minister Shri Modi’s initiative of new awakening for the environment “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign and participating enthusiastically in Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan. He said that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly moving towards the goal of equal progress of youth, women, farmers and poor class, making their lives happy and easy and building a developed state in the field of education, health, basic infrastructure and industrial sector. Under the resolution of Prime Minister Shri Modi’s “Developed India”, the state is working on four main pillars based on the empowerment of poor, youth, farmers and women (GYAN). The state government has launched Garib Kalyan Mission, Swami Vivekananda Yuva Shakti Mission, Kisan-Kalyan and Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Nari Empowerment Mission with the aim of working in mission mode in this direction.
Governor Shri Patel has said that a new chapter of investment and industrial development is being written to accelerate economic development in the state. Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a favorite destination for investment for industrial groups of the country and the world. For the first time in the state, regional industry conclaves have been organized in divisions, giving emphasis to industrial development at the local level. Conclaves and mining conclaves of Ujjain, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Rewa, Sagar, Narmadapuram and Shahdol were organized. To make the state a global investment hub, the government has successfully achieved investment proposals worth Rs 78 thousand crore in sectors like minerals, semi-conductors, health, automobiles, electronic vehicles, renewable energy, education and food processing by conducting road shows in the UK and Germany. Road shows have been conducted in Mumbai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Kolkata and Pune to expand the investment possibilities of the Global Investors Summit to be held in Bhopal in February 2025. Through all these efforts, till now an investment of about Rs 4 lakh 17 thousand crores and employment opportunities will be generated for more than 4 lakh people.
Governor Shri Patel said that every possible effort is being made to provide the necessary resources and opportunities to improve the future of the youth of the Amrit generation of the state. Many schemes for their education, skill upgradation and self-employment are being run so that the youth become self-reliant and play an active role in socio-economic development. Successful results have started coming from the promotion of sports activities in the state. Our state has always been a leader in the country in the agricultural sector. From getting the right price for the hard work of the farmer brothers to loans at zero interest rate, continuous expansion of irrigation facilities and assistance is being ensured in their every need and difficult time. The government has taken many new and unprecedented initiatives for cow protection and promotion with the new concept of service with livelihood to strengthen the rural economy. Our resolve for the welfare of the poor is now moving towards success. With the poor section of the state being assured of equal opportunities and facilities for nutrition, education, health and employment, they are moving forward with a sense of respect and self-confidence. More than 36 lakh families have got permanent houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (rural) and 44 lakh families in urban areas. More than 24 lakh land rights certificates have been distributed under PM Swamitva Yojana.
Governor Shri Patel said that active work is being done in the state towards fulfilling the resolution of Prime Minister Shri Modi to eradicate sickle cell disease by the year 2047. Madhya Pradesh has achieved the first position in the country by doing the maximum screening against the set annual target of sickle cell screening. So far, as of the year 2025, 100% target has been achieved by screening more than 90 lakh people. It is at the first position in the country by distributing genetic counseling cards to more than 53 lakh 87 thousand population in Scheduled Tribe dominated development blocks. The government is managing free treatment of sickle cell affected people. He said that the government is taking care of every aspect of the progress of the tribal community. The honorarium of tendu leaf collectors has been increased from Rs 3 thousand per sack to Rs 4 thousand, the benefit of which is being received by about 35 lakh collectors. 24×7 Mitra Helpline has been started for resolving and guiding the problems of hostel students. The honorarium of Pesa Mobilizers will be increased from Rs 4 thousand to Rs 8 thousand per month.
Governor Shri Patel said that “Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan” has been started for 100% fulfillment of schemes in tribal villages. The campaign has set a target to benefit 93 lakh 23 thousand population of 18 lakh 58 thousand tribal families residing in more than 11 thousand villages. Pre and post-matric scholarship of Rs 728 crore will be paid to talented students. 100-100 seater residential hostels will be built in 89 development blocks of the state. Food grant assistance of more than Rs 325 crore has been given to the sisters of special backward tribes in the year 2024. Infrastructure works worth Rs 7 thousand 300 crore are being done at a fast pace in the PM Jan-Man Yojana in the state to benefit more than 11 lakh brothers and sisters of special backward tribal dominated districts. Madhya Pradesh is leading in the implementation of the scheme by completing the construction of 500 PM Jan-Man Awas in Shivpuri and the first road in Balaghat for the first time in the country. He said that Shri Badal Bhoi Smriti in Chhindwara and Raja Shankar Shah and Raghunath Shah Smriti Tribal Freedom Fighter Museum have been built in Jabalpur. By forming battalions under Shaurya Sankalp Yojana, youth from special backward tribes like Baiga, Bharia and Saharia will be given training for recruitment in police, army and home guard.
Governor Shri Patel said that Madhya Pradesh is the leading state in the country to implement the National Education Policy- 2020. PM Colleges of Excellence have started in all 55 districts. The state has surpassed the national average in the gross enrollment ratio of higher education. Prime Minister Shri Modi has given a gift of Rs 400 crore for advanced facilities in the universities of the state. 3 new universities, Krantisurya Tantya Bhil in Khargone, Rani Avantibai Lodhi in Sagar and Tatya Tope University in Guna have started in the state. The designation of the Vice Chancellors of the universities has also been changed to Kulguru. A new law college will be started in Agar-Malwa. For the Indian knowledge tradition, Ramayana and Gita are being included in the curriculum as optional subjects. Ayush medical facilities are also being expanded in the state. 800 Ayush Arogya Mandirs have started operating in the state. New Ayurvedic colleges will be established in Sagar, Shahdol, Narmadapuram, Balaghat and Morena. Prime Minister Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras have been started in 50 district hospitals of the state. 530 new Ayurveda medical officers have been appointed.
Governor Shri Patel said that a new history of development of irrigation facilities is being created in the state. The target is to increase the present irrigated area of 50 lakh hectares to 1 crore hectares by the year 2028-29. Prime Minister Shri Modi has gifted the state two inter-state river linking projects. In the country’s first Ken-Betwa link project, 10 districts of the Bundelkhand region of the state along with Uttar Pradesh will get drinking water and irrigation facilities. Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal link project with Rajasthan will write a new chapter of development in 11 districts of the state. Chitrangi irrigation project in 32 thousand 125 hectares and Jawad-Neemuch and Bahoriband lift micro irrigation projects have been approved in Singrauli district.
Governor Shri Patel said that Madhya Pradesh has made its mark at the national level by writing several success stories in the field of women empowerment. More than 96 thousand didis have become lakhpatis through self-help groups in the state and 62 lakh rural sisters have become self-reliant. Madhya Pradesh is leading in the country by successfully implementing three new criminal laws in the state. As a result of dedicated efforts, Indore has been awarded the cleanest city for the 7th consecutive time, the state the second cleanest state and Bhopal the cleanest capital in the Swachh Survekshan 2023. Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has received the honour of the best tourism board of the country and the prestigious “Global Tourism Award” in the “Best Sustainable State Tourism” category. Along with being a Tiger and Leopard State, Madhya Pradesh has now also become a Cheetah State. Bhopal’s Ratapani has become the 8th Tiger Reserve of the state. The country’s largest Cheetah corridor will be formed by combining Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The governor took the salute of the parade
Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel hoisted the national flag and took the salute of the impressive parade at a state level function held at Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal on the occasion of 76th Republic Day. Governor Shri Patel inspected the parade. After this, the march past was conducted under the leadership of Parade Commander Shri Karandeep Singh. 20 contingents of various forces participated in the parade under the leadership of 2IC Shri Atul Kumar Soni. Contingent No. 1 Central Reserve Police Force, which participated in the parade, was led by Inspector Surendra Singh. Contingent No.2 Central Industrial Security Force, Contingent No.3 Chhattisgarh Armed Force, Contingent No.4 Madhya Pradesh Special Armed Force (1), Contingent No.5 Special Task Force, Contingent No.6 Special Armed Force and District Police Force (Women), Contingent No.7 District Police Force (Men), Contingent No.8 Jail Department (Women), Contingent No.9 Madhya Pradesh Special Armed Force (2), Contingent No.10 Madhya Pradesh Home Guard, Contingent No.11 Ex-Servicemen, Contingent No.12 NCC Senior Division, Air Wing and Naval Wing, Boys Mixed Platoon, Contingent No.13 NCC Senior Wing, Air Wing and Naval Wing Girls Mixed Platoon, Contingent No.14 Scout Guide Boys, Contingent No.15 Girls Guide Students, Contingent No.16 Police Boys, Contingent No.17 Shaurya Dal, Contingent No.18 Police Band, Contingent No. 19 was a dog squad and Contingent No. 20 was a horse riding squad. These 20 teams performed an attractive march past on the tune of patriotism. After the parade, balloons in the form of the tricolour were released in the sky.
Attractive cultural presentations were held on the ground during the ceremony
Students presented attractive cultural programs in the 76th Republic Day celebrations. Children of non-government St. Paul Co-Ed Higher Secondary School Anand Nagar gave a presentation full of patriotic spirit. 180 students participated in this program. Through the program, it was told that the spirit of patriotism fills every heart with enthusiasm and makes one feel connected to the soil of the country. Students of non-government Hema Higher Secondary School Govindpura BHEL gave a presentation centered on Indian art, culture and heritage. In the presentation, it was told that the splendor of Indian culture is so great that the whole world bows its head in front of our culture. In cultural presentations, students of Government Higher Secondary School Misrod, Government Subhash Utkrisht Higher Secondary School Shivaji Nagar and CM Rise School Mahatma Gandhi Higher Secondary School Barkheda gave a presentation titled Rakshamam- Dharti Ki Pukar. 70 students participated in the presentation. The message of environmental protection and keeping the earth pollution free was given. Modern fusion music was used in Bharat Natyam dance. In the series of cultural programmes, young children of the non-government Holy Family Higher Secondary Convent School, Gandhinagar, performed on the lines of ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’. In the presentation, it was told that despite the country having different languages, cultures and traditions, everyone is tied in one thread. Presentations were given incorporating all these.
Tribal dance performances
Gond Thachya, centered on tribal culture, was presented at the state level function. This dance is performed after Diwali in the tribal community. Folk artists made the dance attractive by the melodious tune of the flute and various postures by a beautiful combination of hands, legs and waist. Gadli-Thapati dance of the Korku tribe was presented at the event. Folk artists presented the Korku dance in a circular circle, making various postures of hands and legs on the rhythm of the tholak.
Attractive display of floats
The progress of the state, good governance and overall development through public participation were displayed through tableaux in the Republic Day celebrations. Tableaux of 20 government departments were displayed. The tableau of the Horticulture Department showed the increasing income of farmers from horticultural crops. The operation of horticulture markets in the state and the GI registration of 15 horticultural crops at present were displayed. The tableau of the AYUSH Department displayed the AYUSH Health-Wellness Center, the attainment of Ayurveda knowledge from Samudra Manthan and the operation of ultra-modern Ayurveda hospitals in the state. The tableau of the Industry Department showed wooden toys of Budhni, investors meet and power loom of Burhanpur. The tableau of the Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Department showed the increasing production of pulses and oilseeds, the increasing production of Kodo, Kutki, Ragi, Jowar, Bajra from Rani Durgavati Shrianna Yojana. The tableau of the Cottage and Village Industries Department showed the process of making colourful cloth with electric spinning wheels, developing the art of weaving Khadi cloth and the traditional means of textile art and clay art. The tableau of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department showcased the operation of 11 sports academies in the state and the activities of ‘India will progress only if India plays’. The tableau of the state showcased the achievement of 6 players winning 3 bronze medals in Paris Olympics and Paralympics.
The tableau of the Home Department showed the effective performance of the police band. The police band unit is being expanded extensively in the state. The “Jan Maitri” campaign being run by the police for the tribal community in the Naxal-affected area was shown. The tableau of the Tribal Affairs Department showed the digital platform for Bhili tribal Gond painting artists, operation of community radio in tribal areas and Janjati Nyay Maha Abhiyan (PM Janman). The tableau of the Jail Department showed the activities of connecting prisoners with creative work and training. The tableau of the Technical Education and Skill Development Department showed electric loom, new experiments of modern solar energy, activities of ITI Training Center. The tableau of the Urban Development and Housing Department showed the construction of Mahakal Lok of Ujjain and the construction of religious Loks in various areas of the state. The tableau of the Tourism Department displayed the historical group nomination document of Orchha and tourism activities. The tableaus of Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, Women and Child Development Department, Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Development Department, Public Health Engineering Department, Public Health and Medical Department, School Education Department, Forest Department, Cooperative Department and Culture Department showcased the achievements made in these areas.

In the state level function, the first prize in the cultural program was given to Rakshamam, second prize to Bharat Ki Sanskruti Gatha of Hema Higher Secondary School and third prize to the group dance presentation ‘Deshbhakti Jazba’ of non-government St. Paul Co-ed. In the presented tableaux, the first place was given to the Culture Department, second to the Forest Department and third to the Tribal Affairs Department.
