Children who have overcome cancer and started a new life are true warriors: State Minister Patel

Bhopal: Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel has said that children who have overcome cancer and are starting a new life are true warriors. It is our shared responsibility to make their future life safe, healthy and respectful. The Survivorship Clinic and Care Plan by Cankids is an excellent effort in this direction. Minister of State Shri Patel inaugurated the State Level Survivorship Clinic (P2L Clinic) Bhopal under the “Passport to Life (Survivorship)” project of Cankids Sanstha. Minister of State Shri Patel said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, the state government is continuously working for all-round development in the field of health. The priority of the government is that every child suffering from serious diseases should not only get life-saving treatment, but also the post-treatment needs should be properly fulfilled. In the program, the Survivor Care Plan prepared by Cankids Sanstha was also released by Minister of State Shri Patel. This care plan has been prepared keeping in mind important aspects like long-term health management, regular follow-up, nutrition, mental health and social rehabilitation of children who have recovered from cancer.

Minister of State Shri Patel interacted with the children who have recovered from cancer, encouraged them and praised their courage and said that all of you have defeated not only the disease but also the situation. You are an inspiration for everyone. The state government is committed to make your further journey simple, safe and strong. Minister of State Shri Patel said that follow-up is important after cancer treatment. Due to lack of information in our society, financial difficulties and distance, many children are deprived of necessary care. This initiative will help in removing all these obstacles. Mrs. Sonal Sharma, Co-founder and Director of Cankids, told that the organization is already running P2L clinics in M.Y. Hospital, SAMS, and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, Jabalpur. Now with the launch of the state level clinic in Bhopal, the aim of the organization is to provide services to every district of the state. Representatives of various social organisations including the health and medical education departments, doctors, children who had recovered from cancer and their families were present at the programme.
