Chief Minister’s Good Governance Fellowship: Chhattisgarh government’s innovative initiative towards good governance

Applications invited for Chief Minister Good Governance Fellowship from 23 April to 11 May
Raipur, 22 April 2025: The Chhattisgarh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai is constantly emphasizing on innovation and effective policies to promote good governance in the state. In this episode, the Chief Minister Good Governance Fellow Scheme has been started. The objective of this scheme is to prepare a skilled and responsible administrative generation by providing high quality education and practical experience in the field of governance to the talented youth of the state. Under the scheme, the Chhattisgarh government will conduct a postgraduate course in Public Policy and Governance in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management Raipur. Fellows will also get an opportunity for practical training in various departments of governance. Chief Minister Good Governance Fellowship is a major initiative of the Chhattisgarh government which was announced by Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai in November 2024. The objective of this program is to attract young professionals to contribute to governance and policy implementation, to increase administrative efficiency and effectiveness. Through this, efficiency and transparency will be promoted in the functioning of the government, as well as the youth will get an opportunity to contribute towards governance improvement by working in coordination with the government, NGOs, think tanks and the private sector. The applicant should be a native of Chhattisgarh state, maximum age limit 35 years, minimum educational qualification should be graduation. Bank account and Aadhaar should be linked to mobile number. Selection for admission will be done through CAT exam.
The Chhattisgarh government will bear the entire fee of this course, as well as a scholarship of Rs 50,000 per month will be provided to each enrolled student. The training will be held at the IIM Raipur campus. Fellows for the Chief Minister’s Good Governance Fellowship will play an important role in the governance of the Chhattisgarh government. The selected candidates will assist in the design and evaluation of data-based policies, streamlining processes in government departments for administrative efficiency, better use of resources and strengthening e-governance, as well as analyzing the impact of schemes at the ground level and help in making policies in accordance with the needs of the citizens. Through this fellowship, administrative processes will be more efficient and transparent, which will increase the impact of government schemes. This program will give young professionals an opportunity to take up leadership roles, thereby strengthening the culture of good governance and increasing citizens’ trust in the government. The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Good Governance Fellowship not only provides the youth with an opportunity for high-level education and training, but will also contribute significantly in realizing the state’s goal of good governance. The fellows selected for the two-year MBA program in Public Policy and Good Governance under the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Good Governance Fellowship will assist in the design, analysis and implementation of administrative policies with specialization in public policy and good governance in the functioning of the Chhattisgarh government. They will also improve the effectiveness of schemes by promoting data-based policy making.
The fellowship holders will work in various government departments to help streamline processes, optimize the use of resources, ensure accountability. The fellows will contribute to making schemes and services more inclusive and accessible by understanding the needs of the citizens. They will evaluate the impact of schemes at the ground level and provide feedback to the government, making policies more targeted and effective. This fellowship program of the Chhattisgarh government reflects its commitment to good governance. For this, the candidate must have a minimum of 60 percent marks (55 percent marks or equivalent CGPA for reserved category) with a bachelor’s degree in any subject. In addition, a valid CAT score card of the year 2022, 2023, or 2024 is also required. Reserved category candidates will get benefits as per the reservation policy of Chhattisgarh.
