Chief Minister’s Education Quality Campaign: Chhattisgarh’s decisive step towards educational revolution

Raipur 14 May 2025: The Chhattisgarh government has taken a historic decision to improve the educational quality of government schools in the state. In the meeting of the Council of Ministers held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan here today, approval was given to start the “Mukhyamantri Shiksha Quality Campaign”, which will give a new direction to the structure and results of education in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said on this occasion that education is a process of life building. Our government is committed to ensure that every child of the state gets quality and holistic education, no matter where he lives. He described it as the foundation of building the future and said that improving the quality of education is the top priority task of the state. Under this campaign, multi-dimensional strategies will be implemented to increase the quality of education in government schools across the state. The School Education Department will soon issue detailed guidelines, which will give a clear outline of implementation at the school level.
Social audit of schools is the main feature of the Chief Minister’s Education Quality Campaign. Under this, grading will be done on the basis of indicators like educational quality of each school, teaching process, achievements of students, infrastructure and teacher attendance. This will be a new example of transparency and accountability. Regular monitoring of schools which are not able to reach the expected quality will be ensured. This work will not only be done by the Education Department, but also by the Government of India. This campaign will be done not only by the teachers but also with the participation of officials of other departments and local public representatives, which will strengthen community monitoring. Chief Minister Shri Sai said that while weak schools will be identified, on the other hand model schools will also be selected. Teachers of weak schools will be taken on an educational tour of these model schools, so that they can take inspiration from the best educational practices and arrangements.
Chief Minister Sai said that parent-teacher participation is an important aspect of the Chief Minister’s Education Quality Campaign. Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTM) will not be a formality, but will be made a medium of dialogue and participation. This will establish better coordination between teachers and parents and work can be done jointly on the progress of children. Under this campaign, there will be a special focus on improving the quality of classroom teaching. Teachers will be trained to adopt modern teaching methods, use of technology and student-centric approach, so that the learning process is enjoyable and effective. Chief Minister Shri Sai also said that this campaign is not only the responsibility of the education department but of the entire society. This step of the Chhattisgarh government makes education not only a matter of access, but also a matter of quality.
