Raipur 17 March 2025: Naxalism in Bastar, Chhattisgarh has now reached its final stage. Due to the strict policies of the government and the effective strategy of the security forces, peace is returning to the Naxal-affected areas. In this connection, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in New Delhi today. In this meeting, there was a detailed discussion on completely eradicating Naxalism, accelerating the development of Bastar and promoting tourism and economic activities. Chief Minister Sai informed Union Home Minister Amit Shah that Naxalism is now in its last stage and the government is taking decisive steps to completely eradicate it. The grip of Naxalite organizations has weakened due to the joint efforts of the state and the Center. Now emphasis is being laid on taking Bastar towards permanent peace by preparing the final phase strategy. He said that the effect of the government’s new surrender and rehabilitation policy-2025 has started showing. Recently, in Bijapur district, a total of 19 Naxalites, including 9 reward-carrying Naxalites, surrendered and decided to return to the mainstream.

The surrendered Naxalites are being given the benefit of financial assistance and rehabilitation schemes by the government, so that they can lead a respectable life in the society. In the meeting, special attention was given to accelerating the development works in Bastar. Chief Minister Sai told that the government is strengthening the basic facilities like education, health, roads, electricity and water in the area. The Chief Minister told that opportunities for skill development, self-employment and new employment are being created to connect the youth of Bastar with the mainstream. The goal of the government is that Bastar should become a new center of peace, development and possibilities instead of remaining just a land of conflict. In the meeting, plans to promote tourism to get the rich cultural and natural beauty of Bastar recognized at the national and international level were also discussed in detail.
