
Chhattisgarh will become the attraction of global investment center in Osaka World Expo 2025
From Dokra Art to Modern Industry – Chhattisgarh’s identity in Osaka
Raipur, 16 August 2025: Chhattisgarh is ready to make its unique identity on the world stage. Chhattisgarh will showcase its heritage and development journey in the World Expo 2025 to be held from 13 April to 13 October 2025 in Osaka, Japan. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has received a special invitation to this prestigious event. The theme of the expo is “Designing Future Society for Our Lives” and its sub-themes are “Saving Lives”, “Empowering Lives” and “Connecting Lives”. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that Chhattisgarh’s participation will not only showcase the cultural and technological progress of the state on the global platform but will also firmly establish Chhattisgarh on the world map of industrial development. He said that Chhattisgarh will also further strengthen its identity as an investment-friendly business center.
Organised by the Bureau International des Expositions, the World Expo is considered the premier platform for global dialogue on innovation and sustainable development. The overarching concept of the Osaka Expo is “People’s Living Lab”, which reflects the spirit of global innovation and co-creation. More than 160 countries and 9 international organisations are participating in the event. India is showcasing its major achievements at the Expo. The Indian Pavilion titled “Bharat Mandap” is a confluence of ancient Indian knowledge and modern innovation. Yoga sessions, Bharatanatyam performances, screenings of Bollywood films and a special Chandrayaan zone showcasing India’s space journey are the centre of attraction for the visitors. Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh has already won the hearts of the global audience through its world-famous Dhokra art. This metal art displayed under the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative has fascinated everyone with its unique craftsmanship. Now Chhattisgarh will set up its state-level stall at the huge Expo site located at Yumeshima Island, Konohanaku, Osaka. Chhattisgarh has got this opportunity on the invitation of the Indian Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO) of the Government of India. Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai will showcase its rich cultural heritage and modern progress. On this occasion, Chhattisgarh is also collaborating with the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai reiterated that Chhattisgarh’s presence at the World Expo 2025 will give new recognition to the achievements of the state and establish it as an emerging investment destination on the map of global industrial development.
