Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai paid homage to immortal martyr Gundadhur on Bhumkal Day

Raipur 9 February 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai paid tribute to tribal leader Amar Shaheed Gundadhur on the occasion of Bhumkal Smriti Diwas on February 10. He said that the sacrifice of Gundadhur, who raised the slogan of revolution against the British rule to protect the rights of water, forest and land, will always remain immortal in the pages of history. Chief Minister Sai said that on 10 February 1910, the brave tribals of Bastar blew the trumpet of Bhumkal rebellion against the injustice and exploitation of the British. In this movement, tribal leaders sacrificed their lives to protect freedom and self-respect. In this struggle led by Amar Shaheed Gundadhur, despite limited resources, the warriors of Bastar challenged the oppressive policies of the British rule.

Sai said that the Bhumkal rebellion is a golden chapter in the freedom struggle of not only Chhattisgarh but the entire country. Chief Minister Sai said that Amar Shaheed Gundadhur is a symbol of tribal consciousness and self-respect. His story of struggle inspires us to stand firm against oppression, exploitation and injustice. On this occasion, the Chief Minister expressed his resolve that the flame of self-respect and self-esteem lit by Gundadhur will always remain lit and the Bhumkal Day celebrated in his memory will continue to give us the strength to fight for social justice.
