Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai gave 7 days’ time to private schools for barcode scanning

Quick decision taken on technical problems in textbook distribution process

Raipur, 03 July 2025`: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, effective steps are being taken continuously to provide textbooks to the students of Chhattisgarh on time. In this sequence, today, Raja Pandey, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Textbook Corporation, while giving information, said that free textbooks are being distributed to all the students from class I to class X. This responsibility is being carried out by the Textbook Corporation with full seriousness. Pandey said that keeping in mind some irregularities that came to the fore in the last academic session, two barcodes have been put on each book this year. One for the identification of the printer and the other for the identification of the destination school of the book. This year a total of 2 crore 41 lakh books were printed, which were delivered to all the depots by 17-18 June 2025. Class 9th, 10th books of government schools have been delivered to the schools and the work of barcode scanning in schools has also been completed 90 percent. Similarly, books are being distributed rapidly in Atmanand Vidyalayas and 60 percent of the books have reached, the remaining will be delivered in a few days.

This time, books are being provided to private schools from the depot only after barcode scanning, whereas earlier this process was done through District Education Officers. However, in the last three days, problems arose due to lack of space in the depot and lack of technical expertise in the scanning process. When Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai was apprised in this regard and told that a large number of private schools including more than 1100 Saraswati Shiksha Mandirs are to get books, then the Chief Minister took a quick decision and directed that all private schools should get district-wise books from the depot as per their requirement and complete barcode scanning in their schools within 7 days. Appreciating this decision of the Chief Minister, Chairman Pandey said that it shows his sensitivity and readiness towards education. This step will ensure that the studies of all the children can start on time and no student is left behind due to lack of books. This initiative of the Chhattisgarh government once again proves that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the state is working dedicatedly and vigilantly in the field of education.
