Congratulations to the soldiers on the historic success achieved in the encounter with 27 Maoists on 21 May

Narayanpur, 23 May 2025: State Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai today reached the BSF camp in village Basing of Orchha block, where he encouraged the soldiers who killed 27 Naxalites in the anti-Naxal operation conducted by DRG-BSF and District Force against the Maoists in the border hills of Narayanpur, Dantewada and Bijapur on 21 May. During this, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma, Forest and Water Resources Minister Kedar Kashyap were specially present with the Chief Minister. Addressing the soldiers at the Basing camp, the Chief Minister said that this is the biggest action against Maoism so far in which the security forces killed 27 including hardcore Maoist Basava Raju. While encouraging the soldiers, Chief Minister Sai said that the way the security forces carried out the operation by making a high-level strategy and achieved success is commendable. Salute to this indomitable courage and bravery of the force. The Chief Minister further said that now the day is not far when the stigma of Maoism will be completely erased from the forehead of Bastar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have pledged to root out Maoism by March 2026, it seems to be fulfilled. Chief Minister Sai further said that the day is not far when Bastar will be fully connected with development. Expressing hope, he said that the work related to education, health, employment and infrastructure will now gain momentum in the interior areas of Bastar, where it was not possible to go till a few years ago.

Chief Minister Sai said that schemes like Niyad Nellnar, PM Janman are being run to connect the Maoist-affected areas with the schemes of the government, whose positive change is now visible in Bastar. With the end of Maoism, Bastar will move rapidly towards development. He congratulated all the soldiers involved in the operation for their bravery while extending his best wishes. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that this operation and the big and historic success of the soldiers are being appreciated not only at the national level but also at the international level. He said that now a big and positive change is going to take place in Bastar which will lead to development and progress. Home Minister Sharma expressed hope and said that in the coming time, villages will be illuminated with school Anganwadi buildings, expansion of roads and electricity facilities in Bastar region. On this occasion, Forest Minister Kashyap also praised the bravery of the soldiers and called it a historic success against Maoism. During this, the Chief Minister presented LED sets and citation letters to the soldiers of the camp and also talked about considering out of turn promotion to the soldiers involved in the Naxal operation soon. On this occasion, the soldiers gave information about the preparations and strategy made to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. Earlier, the soldiers displayed the weapons recovered from the Maoists after the encounter, which included various types of weapons including BGL launcher, 12 bore gun, .303 gun, 7.62 rifle, 5.56 mm INSAS, AK-47, 9 mm carbine. On this occasion, Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, ADG Naxal Operation Vivekananda, Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat, Subodh Kumar Singh, Bastar Commissioner Doman Singh, IG Sundarraj P, DIG Amit Tukaram Kamble, Commissioner Public Relations Dr. Ravi Mittal, Collector Narayanpur Ms. Pratishtha Mamgain, Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar and other senior officers were present.
