Chief Minister Sai got invitation for state level grand Panthi dance competition

Raipur, 27 November 2024: Panthi dancers from Chhattisgarh as well as different states of the country will participate in the state level Panthi dance competition. This competition will be held from 19 to 21 December at Navagarh, the development block headquarters of Bemetara district. A team of Satnami community chiefs led by Food Minister Dayal Das Baghel met Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai at his residence office and invited him to participate in the competition. Chief Minister assured Sai to participate in the Jayanti program while gladly accepting the invitation.
The delegation told Chief Minister Sai that a state level Panthi dance competition is being organized in the coming month of December to commemorate the 268th birth anniversary of Param Pujya Guru Ghasidas Baba Ji. People of all communities have been requested to make this event a success in an atmosphere of mutual love and harmony. Panthi dance groups from different states of the country are being invited to participate in the competition. There is also a plan to honor people of all communities who have helped in the event. On this occasion, information was also given about the format of the competition, organizing committee, security committee and other arrangements. Former MLA Ramji Bharti, former MLA Dr. Sanam Jangde, Padma Smt. Usha Barle and other representatives of the society were present on this occasion.
Panthi dance is famous in the country and abroad
Chhattisgarh’s Panthi dance is famous in the country and abroad. It is the traditional dance of the Satnami community of Chhattisgarh. In this dance, the messages of Baba Guru Ghasidas Ji are presented through songs and dance. This is actually a religious and spiritual dance. This dance is like a collective worship. The specialty of this dance is that the dancers perform the dance at a fast pace to the beat of the Mandar and the cymbals of the Manjira. The audience gets thrilled by this dance performed at a fast pace. Many musical instruments are used in Panthi dance, such as Mandar, cymbals, jhumka, manjira, chikara, harmonium, and banjo etc.
