Chhattisgarh’s ‘Khanij Online’ portal gets Excellence Award

Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has congratulated and wished the officials of the Mineral Department on Chhattisgarh’s Mineral Online Portal getting the Excellence Award. The web-based portal ‘Khanij Online’ developed by Chhattisgarh’s Mineral Resources Department for the overall management of mines and minerals in the state has been awarded the Technology Sabha Excellence Award under the Enterprise Applications category by the Indian Express Group. In a program organized on August 23 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, this award was received by Joint Director and Nodal Officer of Khanij Online, Mr. Anurag Diwan on behalf of the Mineral Department.

This scheme of making any government process online has proved to be a major step towards ease of doing business in the mining sector of Chhattisgarh. With the success of Khanij Online, the department is now working on the Khanij Online 2.0 scheme. Which includes geofencing of mines, vehicle tracking system, mobile app etc. as well as RTO. The government is working on a plan to establish a Central Command and Control Centre for monitoring and control including integration with railways etc. In the year 2018-19, the Mineral Online Project has also been given the National Award for e-Governance by the Government of India to recognize and promote excellence in the initiative and implementation of re-engineering of government processes and systems through digital transformation.

It is worth noting that the Mineral Online Portal is being operated since 21 June 2017. In this portal, online application for various purposes, single click payment, system generated bar coded e-transit pass, end-to-end tracking have been arranged for the ease of work of stakeholders associated with mining operations such as mine owners, processors, transporters and users, end-use plant owners. Through the portal, all stakeholders involved in mining operations, processing, transportation, end-use etc. work on a single platform.

The Navaratna companies of the country engaged in mining operations like NMDC, SECL etc. as well as the big private sector companies like BALCO, Hindalco, Ultratech, Shri Cement, Emami, Jaiswal Nico, Godavari Power, JK Lakshmi, Nuvoco, Ambuja as well as small dolomite excavation lease holders are also successfully carrying out mining business through the Mineral Online Portal.
