Raipur 27 April 2025: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the ceremony of taking charge and felicitation of the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh Telghani Vikas Board, Shri Jitendra Kumar Sahu, in a dignified ceremony organized at DDU Auditorium in the capital Raipur. On this occasion, he extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to Shri Sahu for his new responsibility. Chief Minister Sai said that today is a celebration of the cultural heritage of Chhattisgarh and the respect for traditional labor, which has kept the soul of the state alive for centuries. He said that Jitendra Sahu is an educated, progressive farmer and has a long experience of social life. Certainly, under his leadership, Chhattisgarh Telghani Vikas Board will touch new heights. Chief Minister Sai said that in summers, more water and energy is required for farming, in such a situation, it is very important to promote oilseed crops by adopting crop cycle. In this direction, the role of Sahu Samaj and Telghani Vikas Board can be important. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ‘Local for Vocal’ campaign is gaining momentum, in which the Telghani Vikas Board can make an effective contribution.

Citing the example of a village in Surguja district, the Chief Minister said that the farmers there are collectively producing organic aromatic rice and selling it at the rate of Rs 300 per kg. Similarly, some farmers are extracting mustard oil through traditional method and selling it for up to Rs 1,000 per liter. Such innovations need to be encouraged across the state. Chief Minister Sai said that his government has fulfilled most of the promises under ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’ in 15 months. He said that by April 30, through the ‘Awas Survey Plus Plus’ campaign, homeless persons will be identified and houses will be provided to them. Also, by relaxing the rules of housing schemes, arrangements have been made to benefit more and more needy families. He said that Prime Minister Modi has set a target of building 3 crore houses across the country, which will also directly benefit the citizens of Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister also informed that on the occasion of Panchayati Raj Diwas, ‘Atal Digital Suvidha Kendra’ has been launched in 1460 villages of 146 development blocks of the state, through which the benefits of various government schemes will reach the common citizens directly at the Gram Panchayat level. Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw said that the government has entrusted the responsibility of Telghani Vikas Board to an educated and typical Chhattisgarhi farmer of Sahu community. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of Sahu, the board would be successful in fulfilling its objectives. On this occasion, MLAs Sunil Soni, Ishwar Sahu, Dipesh Sahu, Doman Lal Korsevada, Chairmen of various Divisional Commissions, officers and employees of Telghani Vikas Board and a large number of dignitaries were present.
