Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai met the Union Home Minister

Information given on achievements of Naxal operation and development of Bastar

New Delhi, 6 June 2025- Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Friday. During this, the Chief Minister gave detailed information about the successes of anti-Maoist operations in the state so far and the development works going on in the Bastar region. Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma and Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Subodh Singh were present on this occasion. The Chief Minister said that with the new strategy of the state government and the cooperation of the Center, the Naxal eradication campaign has been brought to a decisive turn. Intensive campaigns conducted in the last one and a half years have yielded positive results. 1,428 Maoists have surrendered, which is a significant increase compared to the last five years.

Chief Minister Sai informed that 427 Maoists were killed in 205 encounters, including notorious Maoists like top leader of the organization General Secretary Basava Raju and Central Committee member Sudhakar. Along with this, 64 new forward security camps have been established in the state, which has strengthened the security network. He informed that basic facilities like electricity, drinking water, health services and schools are now being rapidly provided to the villages located around these security camps. 18 types of community services and 25 types of government schemes are being implemented in an integrated manner in the 146 villages identified under the ‘Niyad Nellnar Yojana’, which has increased the trust of the local people in the governance system. Home Minister Amit Shah praised the progress report presented by Chief Minister Sai and said that decisive control over Maoist activities is becoming possible due to the efforts of the Chhattisgarh government and the central government will continue to provide all possible assistance to the state.
