Chardham pilgrims can now create their Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) on e-Swasthya Dham portal

The e-Swasthya Dham portal is now integrated with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). ABDM, a “Central Sector Scheme” launched in September 2021, aims to create an integrated digital health infrastructure in the country. The Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Uttarakhand has launched a portal called e-Swasthya Dham. The e-Swasthya Dham portal, available at https://eswasthyadham.uk.gov.in/, is a portal that helps in monitoring the health parameters of the Char Dham Yatra pilgrims. As a result, it ensures a smooth journey of pilgrims visiting Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath – together called the Char Dham Yatra.

The e-Swasthya Dham portal offers a variety of benefits to pilgrims and one of them is creating ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account). Pilgrims can easily create their 14-digit ABHA on the e-Health Dham portal in just 1-2 minutes.

Given the increasing number of pilgrims, the platform ensures that their health is given top priority for a safe and smooth journey, especially for senior citizens. The Char Dham shrines are located at high altitudes, so it is important to keep track of high altitude-related health ailments such as heart disease, hypertension and respiratory diseases, diabetes, etc. due to cold weather and low oxygen levels. Creation of ABHA as a part of ABDM will establish a strong and trusted identity for devotees that will help manage their health records digitally. It will also ensure immediate availability to citizens in times of emergency.

More than 65 crore ABHAs have been created so far. ABHA brings a variety of benefits to citizens, including storing and managing their health records securely. It also allows them to share their health records securely, anywhere, anytime with the consent of the doctor. Through ABHA, citizens can avail a number of digital health benefits such as avoiding long queues at health facilities for registration and booking appointments with doctors.

Citizens can also avail the portal by creating their ABHA by logging on to https://eswasthyadham.uk.gov.in/login and get more information about the travel rules. Helpline number 104 has also been set up to assist pilgrims.
