Chairman’s inspection on cleaning of drains of Ward 13: Notice on illegal construction, instructions to install new culvert and tap

Raipur – Today, Chairman Suryakant Rathore of Municipal Corporation Raipur inspected the pre-monsoon cleaning system of drains and sewers in the area of Rajiv Gandhi Ward No. 13 under Municipal Corporation Zone No. 2 in the presence of Ward Councilor and Chairman of Corporation Finance Department Mahendra Khodiyar, Zone 2 Zone Commissioner Dr. R.K. Dongre, Executive Engineer P.D. Dhrtlahare, Zone Health Officer Ravi Lavania and other related Zone 2 officials and after reviewing the site, gave necessary instructions to the Zone Commissioner to improve the system in public interest in this regard. During the inspection, Chairman Suryakant Rathore saw drinking water flowing from a public tap without a spout in Ward 13, so he immediately directed to save drinking water by installing a spout in it. The Chairman directed to get the mouth of the jammed drain near the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad office in Devendra Nagar cleaned and to open the outlet of the drain. He directed to get the drain cleaned till the bottom of the Paras Nagar area. In Devendra Nagar, instructions have been given to the Zone 2 Zone Commissioner to prepare a proposal and send it soon to construct a new culvert in front of the Vidyarthi Parishad office to solve the problem of waterlogging in the rain and to construct a new drain from the said culvert to Gujarati School Road via Timber Bhawan for smooth drainage of dirty water in the rain. The Chairman has given instructions to break the illegal blocks constructed on the drains in Ward 13 area and clean them systematically and make smooth drainage arrangements before the rains. The Chairman has given instructions to the Zone 2 Zone Commissioner to immediately get the necessary improvements and repair work done in the broken drains in Rajiv Gandhi Ward No. 13 and to approve Rs 3 lakh from the maintenance fund for the ward in public interest. The Chairman has directed the owners of the houses built over the drain in Devendra Nagar Sector-3 area to immediately issue a notice as per rules from the zone and get the necessary action done under the procedure.
