Raipur. According to the National Cleanliness Survey of Urban Bodies by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, now every month there will be cleanliness ranking of all the wards of Raipur Municipal Corporation. Officials from business organizations, NGOs, educational institutions, hospital management etc. will also be included in the jury formed for this purpose. The Municipal Corporation will release this ranking on the 10th of every month and at the end of the year, the three best performing wards will be honored in a city level event.
Raipur Municipal Corporation is continuously running programs under various action plans to make common citizens aware about cleanliness in the urban area. By preparing a plan for cleanliness ranking of local colonies, builders and residential welfare societies are being motivated to register by 10th February. Till now 60 colonies have registered themselves for this cleanliness ranking and Clean Green Award. For this, the remaining colonies have been asked to register themselves for the Clean Green Award by visiting the Municipal Corporation website link https://nagarnigamraipur.nic.in before 10th February.
On the same lines, the Ministry of Urban Housing and Works, Government of India has now issued a guideline asking to determine ward-wise cleanliness ranking. A jury will be formed for the cleanliness of the ward and this jury will submit its report to the Municipal Corporation on the 5th of every month, on the basis of which the list of the best three wards will be released on the 10th. Annual ranking will be determined on the basis of cleanliness conscious wards and continuity of the arrangements there and the best wards will be honored in a city level programme.
Under the special cleanliness campaign of all the wards of the city, continuous monitoring will be done on ten points, for which 100 points will be fixed, which mainly includes separation of dry-wet and domestic hazardous waste in all the houses and residential complexes of the ward. -Separate collection, household or community composting of wet waste, single use plastic ban by all shops, open littering and defecation, prevention of animal feces and other filth, Google mapping of community buildings and public toilets, public A five-member jury will inspect the ward and get information about the actual situation on other points including arrangement of caretakers for the maintenance of toilets, ward beautification, preparation of cleanliness champions and various other events. Monthly cleanliness report will be released after taking point wise feedback from the residents of the ward along with cleanliness arrangements of the ward and uploading it in the live photo portal.
