CG NEWS: ITM University conducts Road Safety Seminar for Students Awareness
Raipur. ITM University Raipur in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki Driving School organized a highly insightful session on Road Safety Awareness and Rules on Tuesday. The road safety seminar was conducted by guest speakers Mr. T K Bhoi, Head of the Traffic Department of Raipur, who holds a distinguished place in the Guinness Book of World Records for addressing over ten thousand students on road safety and Mr. Sonal Gupta, Manager MDS at Naya Raipur based ITM university campus. Speaker Mr T K Bhoi enlightened the students with crucial insights, safety tips, traffic rules and regulations. He laid emphasis on practicing road safety measures for the safety of everyone. He said it is important for everyone to respect others while driving or walking on the road and take care of their safety. People’s safety on the road is one of the most important aspects in order to avoid roadside accidents, injury, and death.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from more than 100 students of the university. The highlights of the session was a quiz competition to test students’ knowledge about road safety and reward the sharpest minds with attractive prizes. The winners were awarded helmets by Maruti Suzuki.
To add an element of practical learning, the MDS Manager Mr Sonal Gupta and his team organized a learner’s license campaign for students and a free demo of Maruti Suzuki cars for students and faculty members of the University. Students enjoyed the experience of test driving various models and learning more about their features and benefits. ITM university’s 18 students were granted on-the-spot learning licenses at a highly discounted fee.
The Director General of ITM University Ms. Lakshmi Murthy shared comprehensive plans for upcoming skill-oriented activities for students. She informed that ITM university is going to launch a certificate course on driving skills, catering to the interests of numerous students in the collaboration with Maruti Suzuki. Ms. Murthy stated, “We are planning to conduct a survey to facilitate registrations. This is our way of integrating life skills with mainstream education, ensuring a holistic development for our students.”
The program was coordinated by Sphurti Pathak from the training and placement department of the university. The initiative not only focuses on enhancing practical skills but also aligns with the university’s commitment to providing a well-rounded education that prepares students for real-world challenges
