Cg news : ITM University celebrates National Science Day
Raipur. National Science Day was successfully celebrated in ITM University, Raipur on 28th February 2024. The event was organized by Koshika Club, School of Life and Allied Science in collaboration with Institutions Innovation Council (IIC). The theme of event was “Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat” and “Science for a Sustainable Future”. The day serves as a reminder of India’s rich scientific heritage and encourages scientific research and innovation. It also seeks to inspire the younger generation to pursue careers in science and technology, fostering a scientific mindset for the development of the nation.
Around 55 students from SLAS participated in the Poster making, Model making Science Painting and Quiz competition which showcased their ideas on solving a problem or presenting the existing solutions in explanatory way. There were 6 working models presented by the students on subjects like Geothermal Energy, Waste Water treatment, Adulterants in Food, Acid rain and High quality Science Transformation. The entire participants were appreciated by participation certificate and winners were awarded with exciting prizes. The event also witnessed a health checkup camp where around 120 students and staff members were tested for their blood group, blood pressure, blood glucose and hemoglobin level which was coordinated by the students of M.Sc Microbiology. The event was graced by the presence of Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sumer Singh and Director General Ms. Lakshmi Murthy. Dr. Yasin Sheikh and Mr. Faisal Khan were invited as judges for the models and posters displayed. This even was successfully coordinated by Dr. Rupesh Thakur, Dr. Jai Godheja and Dr. Loknath Deshmukh from School of Life and Allied Science.
Winners of various competitions were as follows. In model making competition Jyotiprakash Nayak, Pooja Singh, Megha Seal and Sovan Pramanik secured first position, Mahima Thakur, Tanisha Sinha and Tanishka Dey secured second position; Yachika Verma and Disha Sahu secured third position.
