CG NEWS: Inauguration of series of radio programs on agricultural awareness

Raipur. A series of community radio programs on programs and schemes of the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India was inaugurated at Radio Samvad 90.8 FM, Kushabhau Thakre University of Journalism and Mass Communication. Registrar of the University, Dr. Chandrashekhar Ojha inaugurated this series. Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion, Vikram Rawat, Chief Manager Corporate Communications, National Fertilizers Limited Vijaypur Guna, said that the objective of this program is to enrich the farmers of the country. Under this, a series of 180 episodes on agriculture will be broadcast by Radio Samvad in Raipur. These programs will be produced and broadcast with the help of agricultural experts. This program will prove important in agricultural development and awareness of the use of balanced fertilizers in agriculture. Special guest Dr. Vijay Jain, Director and Senior Scientist of Agricultural Science Center, Durg, said about the current climate change that today there is a great need to plant trees and conserve them. Climate change is directly impacting agriculture. Therefore, attention will have to be paid to the changes taking place due to climate change. Registrar Dr. Chandrashekhar Ojha said that it is a matter of pride that Journalism University will also act as a link in this important effort of agricultural development.
This program is being sponsored by National Fertilizers Limited, Vijaypur, Guna (M.P.) in a series of community radio programs on programs and schemes of the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, under which the Community Radio Station of the University “Radio Samvad 90.8 FM” will broadcast 180 episodes and produce 45 radio programmes.
The welcome address in the program was given by Dr. Narendra Tripathi, Center Director of Radio Samvad. He said that community radio is playing an important role in the development of the society. There is a need to draw society’s attention to the usefulness of community radio. On this occasion, senior journalist Mayank Chaturvedi said that radio is important among mass media. Radio is the only medium which reaches the farmers directly. Therefore, we should come to community radio for development and awareness programs. NFL Raipur Area Manager SK Bhagat said that through radio dialogue we will present agricultural awareness programs with quality. On this occasion, university professors Dr. Rajendra Mohanty, Dr. Ashutosh Mandavi and teachers and students were present.
