CG NEWS: Illegal mining of sand, 57 vehicles including 6 chain mounted machines seized
Raipur. Under the guidance of Collector Chandan Kumar, a comprehensive campaign of action is being conducted against the people involved in illegal mining and transportation of minerals in Balodabazar-Bhatapara district. In Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, under the guidance of the Collector, on February 15, the District Mineral Task Force raided many areas and seized chain mounted machines and vehicles engaged in illegal sand mining. The District Mineral Task Force included officials from the Revenue Department, Mineral Department and Police Department. The task force seized 51 vehicles and 6 chain mounted machines involved in illegal excavation and transportation of sand, mud and limestone.
According to the information received, Sub-Divisional Officer and Tehsildar Balodabazar have registered a case against 22 vehicles illegally transporting mineral sand. Similarly, in village Datan (B) under Palari tehsil, 2 chain mounted machines and 3 highways involved in illegal excavation of sand were seized at night while filling sand in the river.
Similarly, 3 chain mounted machines engaged in illegal excavation of sand at night in village Bhadra under Kasdol tehsil and 8 highways filled with sand in villages Bhadra and Sinodha have been seized and handed over to Kasdol police station. During the raid, Tehsildar Lavan filled 8 highways with sand, the Mineral Department team seized 4 highways and kept them in Police Station Lavan for security. A case of illegal transportation on 3 vehicles each and chain mounted machine being used in illegal mining of Murum has been seized by Tehsildar Tundra and Bhatapara. Action has been taken against the seized machines and vehicles under the Mines and Minerals Act, 1957.
