Raipur. One Time Settlement Scheme 2023 has been implemented by the Commercial Tax GST Department for speedy resolution of years old disputed outstanding cases. Through the scheme, both money and time of businessmen are being saved. Besides, this is increasing the revenue of the department. Departmental officials said that till February 2024, the department has resolved 9 thousand 852 cases and given relief worth Rs 60.40 crore to the beneficiaries and from this the department has also received a revenue of Rs 20 crore. Officials said that to avail the benefits of the scheme, applications can be made only till March 31, 2024.

Under the scheme, the department has so far given relief of Rs 27.10 crore in tax, Rs 16.17 crore in interest and Rs 16.58 crore in penalty to the defaulting businessmen. State GST According to the information received from the department, 2754 outstanding cases have been resolved in Raipur division number-1, 2051 in Raipur division number-2, 974 in Bilaspur division number-1, 2663 in Bilaspur division number-2 and 1410 in Durg division.

In the dues resolution scheme of the department, there is a provision to waive 60 percent of the tax amount, 90 percent of the interest and the entire amount of penalty in cases where the outstanding is less than Rs 50 lakh. Similarly, in cases involving more than Rs 50 lakh, there is a provision to waive 40 percent of the tax amount, 90 percent of the interest and the entire amount of penalty. The special thing about the outstanding resolution scheme is that GST. It has been implemented to recover the outstanding amount in case of sales tax, commercial tax, VAT tax, provincial, central entry tax, hotel tax and profession tax under the pre-enactment legislations. Such cases can be withdrawn from the court and a free application can be made to avail benefits under the scheme.
