CG News: Action taken on banned plastic, fine imposed

Raipur. Carrybags and other banned plastic materials used by shopkeepers located in Lakhe Nagar of the city were investigated by the joint team of Municipal Corporation Raipur Zone No. 5 and Environment Department, in which seizure action was taken against those selling and using banned plastic materials. And fine was imposed. In the proceedings, an amount of Rs. was recovered for storage and use of banned plastic in total 6 shops of Lakhnagar. A fine of only Rs 3000 was imposed, along with about 10 kg of banned plastic/carrybags confiscated. Gaurishankar Sahu of Zone No. 5, Assistant Revenue Officer, Dnyaneshwar Sharma, Revenue Inspector and Environment Department chemists Abhay Mishra and Ramraj Tripathi were present in the proceedings to investigate the banned plastic.
