Strict Privacy Measures in Uttarakhand UCC: Personal Data to Remain Confidential
Under Uttarakhand’s Uniform Civil Code (UCC), no third party will have access to personal details provided during service registrations. Only the total number of registrations will be made public, without disclosing any individual’s personal information.
Strict Provisions to Maintain Privacy
According to Additional Secretary (Home) Nivedita Kukreti, UCC prioritizes the confidentiality of all information. Personal details like name, address, mobile number, Aadhaar number, religion, or caste will not be made public at any level. The only publicly accessible information will be the number of registrations under UCC, which is already visible on the official website. Additionally, only the individual who applied for a UCC service can request details related to their application, either alone or through a joint request with another person. No one else will have access to this information.
Strict Action Against Data Misuse
Kukreti further stated that registration details under UCC will be shared with the local police station strictly for record-keeping purposes. Even station in-charges will only be able to access this information under the supervision of the SSP. If any data misuse occurs at any level, strict action will be taken against the responsible individuals.
