BJP’s Waqf reform campaign, meetings with the Muslim community and the Board Chairman’s clarification regarding the property

Under the Waqf Janjagran Abhiyan, BJP is interacting with the Muslim community across the state. In this campaign, many programs like Waqf Reform Dialogue, Women’s Conference, Christian Harmony Meeting and Contact with Tribal Society will be run in districts and divisions. In these programs being held at the state level, town hall meetings are being held through ‘Waqf Reform Dialogue’, in which well-known Muslim faces of the society are participating. Its purpose is to openly discuss the benefits of this new law and to create a correct understanding about it among educated and professional people. Doctors, actors, lawyers, teachers, media people, women activists and people active on social media are being included in these meetings so that they can also inform others about this law. Apart from this, goodwill meetings will also be held with the Christian community in every district. At the same time, in tribal areas, party workers will form different groups and meet big tribal personalities and go to their areas and give information on issues related to Waqf law and land. Its purpose is that if there is any encroachment or disturbance on tribal land, then that can also be stopped. Similarly, women’s conferences and contact campaigns will be conducted under the leadership of Mahila Morcha. In this, changes related to triple talaq and Haj will be discussed and it will be told what benefits Muslim women can get from these decisions. Through programs like ‘Nagarik Samvad’ at the district level, the misunderstandings and confusions being spread in the Muslim society will be removed. Efforts will be made to create a positive thinking about this law. BJP has decided that every MP and MLA will definitely hold at least one such meeting. A special meeting will be held in every assembly constituency regarding this law in which the government’s point of view will be put forward. In these meetings, scholars of Muslim society, madrasa owners and religious leaders will also be called so that they can be explained how this law can be beneficial for them. Along with this, there will also be a dialogue with the children studying in madrasas in which they will be told how education and employment opportunities can increase with the Waqf reform.
In the last phase of the campaign, under the ‘Waqt Nav Chetna Pehal’, BJP workers will go door-to-door and meet people. There, in small meetings, it will be told what irregularities used to happen in the Waqf earlier and how the new changes that have come now will bring transparency. After the changes in the Waqf Board, BJP is conducting workshops at different places so that the Muslim community can be told what benefits they will get from this. At the same time, Congress is raising questions about this change. Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams says that Congress is deliberately spreading confusion among the people. It is saying that the properties which are being talked about registering in Waqf will not be done, whereas it is not so. Shams told that now if any property has to be registered in Waqf, then first the District Magistrate will investigate it – it will be seen whether there is any dispute on that land or property. Only if everything turns out to be correct, that property will be registered in the Waqf Board. BJP’s effort is to investigate every property with complete transparency and only the genuine Waqf properties should be included in the board.
