BJP’s manifesto is a resolution for the development of the city, basic needs of the citizens and a better life – Srinivas Maddi

Dantewada: Bharatiya Janata Party has released its manifesto ‘Atal Vishwas Patra’ for the upcoming urban body elections in Chhattisgarh. BJP District Organization Incharge Dantewada Srinivas Maddi, while discussing the manifesto, said that this manifesto has been dedicated to Atal ji on the occasion of his 100th birth anniversary and ‘Atal Nirman Varsh’, honoring his contribution and vision of nation building. To prepare the manifesto, we ran a state-wide ‘Sujhaav Sangrah Abhiyan’, in which suggestions and expectations were sought from the public. We received thousands of suggestions, out of which important suggestions have been included by our manifesto committee. This manifesto is a symbol of the aspirations of the people and the spirit of service of our party. Before talking about the manifesto, I would also like to draw your attention to this year’s historic budget. This budget has been prepared keeping in mind every section, from farmers to MSME, whether it is about increasing seats in colleges for the youth and funding of startups or social security initiatives for gig workers. Also, while maintaining the country’s growth rate, a historic step has been taken by giving tax relief to the middle class. Under the leadership of the successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of the respected Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, this budget sets a new record. There was a time when tax had to be paid on income above 2.5 lakhs under the Congress rule, but now historic relief has been given by imposing zero tax on income up to Rs 12 lakh. The middle class will get direct benefit from this – people will be able to increase their expenses, meet their personal needs and engage in investment. This budget is a big step towards the citizens of the country becoming self-reliant. Chhattisgarh BJP heartily thanks the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister on behalf of all you Chhattisgarh residents. Now, I want to tell you about our manifesto ‘Atal Vishwas Patra’, which is going to lay the foundation stone of Chhattisgarh’s bright future. Srinivas Maddi said that in the field of urban development, our manifesto resolves to take steps towards the basic needs and better life of every citizen. We will make a new law for the ownership of Nazul land and make all lease holders landowners. We will complete the stalled PM Housing-Urban projects at a fast pace and ensure the construction of the currently approved 3 lakh PMAY-U houses. Apart from this, people who pay electricity bills and consolidated tax will be given eligibility to build houses.

We will set up screening centers in municipal areas to make Chhattisgarh sickle cell anemia free and issue sickle cell anemia identity cards to all patients. To make the services of Nagar Palika and Panchayat digital and simple, ‘My City App’ will be launched, in which all online services will be available. Also, we will ensure doorstep delivery of government services under the ‘Sarkar Tunhar Dwar’ scheme. Integrated service centers will be set up in every zone so that citizens do not have to visit the Nagar Palika or Panchayat office again and again. We will ensure quick resolution of public complaints through Nidan Helpline. A special rebate of 10% will be given to citizens who pay property tax on time and 25% special rebate on properties registered in the name of women. We will strengthen the ‘Nal Se Jal’ scheme, build new water tanks and conserve and revive old wells to ensure pure drinking water supply. To promote urban cleanliness, garbage buckets will be provided to every household and tracking of garbage collection routes will be done through smart waste monitoring system. Ponds will be connected to STP (sewage treatment plants) to ensure their cleanliness and water conservation. Giving priority to the health of women and girl students, we will provide free sanitary napkins in schools and colleges. Also, the number of pink toilets for women will be increased in market areas so that they can avail clean and safe facilities. Additionally, under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, women Self Help Group (SHG) beneficiaries will be provided loans up to ₹2.5 lakh and free training to make them economically empowered and self-reliant. We will start public study centres based on Nalanda campus in major municipal bodies and also increase the number of seats in libraries. To promote employment, we will set up employment oriented skill development centres across the state, which will promote entrepreneurship, personality development and employment opportunities for the youth. ‘Mayor Samman Nidhi’ will be set up in every municipal corporation to provide incentives of ₹1 lakh to candidates who clear the UPSC Mains exam (MAINS).

Apart from this, we will ensure free Wi-Fi facility in schools and colleges so that students can take advantage of digital education and online resources. This step will be in line with the target of broadband connectivity for schools and health centers announced in the recent budget of the Central Government. We will provide financial assistance of up to ₹ 30,000 under the PM Swanidhi Yojana to economically empower street vendors. Along with this, we will establish smart vending zones and food streets and formulate a proper policy to encourage street trading. Basic facilities like electricity, roads, toilets and drinking water will be ensured in the commercial centers of every municipal body. We will provide reasonable solutions to problems related to user charges. Through the Samadhan Yojana, we will provide a one-time settlement for old property tax without imposing penalty or interest. This manifesto not only promises a better life to the citizens, but also outlines concrete steps to take by prioritizing their needs. For the BJP, every election is an opportunity to serve the public. We consider power as a means of service and solving people’s problems at the grassroots level is our priority. Our party is people-centric, where every citizen’s voice is heard. This is the basis of true democracy. In contrast, other parties—like the Congress—act at the behest of the family sitting in Delhi or leaders from Rajasthan. Congress has a history of corruption and misgovernance in Chhattisgarh. Whenever they got power, they left no stone unturned to loot the state and misuse public money. For the Congress, the municipalities had become a mere ‘recovery mechanism’ whose sole purpose was to extract money from the public and promote corruption. These bodies were used by the Congress like ‘ATMs’ to obstruct the schemes of the newly elected BJP state government and misuse public money for their own selfish ends.

This recovery mechanism of the Congress tried every possible way to weaken the schemes of the BJP-ruled state government at the body level and prevent the benefits from reaching the public. Despite this, we tried to fulfil our promises by overcoming every obstacle. The public has now fully understood this misrule and corruption of the Congress and has made up its mind to completely oust the Congress from power this time. This time the public will see our vision and will take a pledge to oust the Congress from power at every level. We have tried to fulfill every promise, and now with the support of the public, we will completely eliminate the corruption of the Congress from Chhattisgarh. Atal ji had said, “I have come here not with promises, but with intentions” and it is our intentions that take us forward on the path of serving the public. This is the reason why this manifesto of the BJP is based on the suggestions and needs of the public—it is not just a document, but a roadmap made for the public, by the public and in the service of the public. This is the time to get rid of the misrule and corruption of the Congress, and this time the decision of the people of Chhattisgarh will be clear. As Modi Ji had said, “BJP’s guarantee means the guarantee of the guarantee being fulfilled”. We will further strengthen the trust of the people by fulfilling our guarantee completely. During this, MLA Chaitram Atami, District President Santosh Gupta, Nagar Palika Dantewada President Candidate Payal Gupta, Former President Nagar Panchayat Geedam Abhilash Tiwari, Suman Prabha Yadav, Subhash Surana, Rajesh Borban, GD Bairagi, Nikhil Nag, Shivendra Patel were present.
