The first leg of the Ganga Samman Yatra of senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister Harish Rawat ended with Ganga Aarti in Rishikesh. But as the yatra progressed, Harda (Harish Rawat) has once again come under the target of BJP. BJP leader and MLA Vinod Chamoli has accused him of making Congress a kind of placement agency for his family. Vinod Chamoli took a dig at Harish Rawat’s yatra and said that till the true spirit and respect of Sanatan Dharma is not attached to it, this Ganga Samman Yatra is just a sham. He said that Harda is only trying to promote his children and relatives in the Congress. For him, the party has become a medium where he tries to set his people.
Chamoli clearly said that this yatra is not being done to strengthen the party, but to make a political future for his family members. He also alleged that Harish Rawat has taken many decisions in the past to please a particular community. He reminded that he himself had once called Ganga a drain and now he is talking about respecting the same Ganga. Chamoli said that whether it is about Muslim University or schemes like holiday on Jumme ki Namaaz – all these were things that crossed the limits of appeasement. On the other hand, Harish Rawat also retaliated and said that whether Congress is a victim of lies or not, but the people of the state are no longer ready to believe these blatant lies. He said in a sarcastic tone that when Harada says that Congress has become a victim of lies, then he should also tell who was the one whose sting was done as Chief Minister? Who had said that save my government, take whatever you want in return? Harish Rawat feels that people have forgotten all this, but the defeat in every election shows that the public has not yet forgiven him for the charge of breach of trust.
