This year itself, at the age of 43, he became the oldest tennis player to win a Grand Slam by winning the Australian Open title with Matthew Ebden. Now Bopanna’s eyes are on the Paris Olympics. He is going to play here not with his regular partner Matthew Ebden but with N Sriram Balaji, but his claim in Paris cannot be dismissed. If Bopanna wins a medal in men’s doubles with Balaji in Paris, he will create history. He can become the oldest Indian player to win a medal in the Olympics.

During this stay, Bopanna got to know everything about them. Balaji was also among them. It was believed that there would be a controversy over Bopanna’s partner, but it did not happen. Sources say that a few days after this stay, Bopanna had informed the All India Tennis Federation (AITA) that he was going to make Balaji his partner. However, Balaji’s name was announced much later.
