Big relief for devotees of Kainchi Dham: Now no jam, reach directly from bypass for darshan!

Kacchi Dham Bypass: A Boon for Pilgrims and Locals Alike-The revered Kacchi Dham temple in Uttarakhand draws thousands of devotees yearly. However, the NH 109E, the highway passing through, has become severely congested, causing hours of traffic jams due to heavy vehicles and crowds. Recognizing this issue, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced a new bypass in 2023 to ease movement for pilgrims and locals.

 Bypass Details: Length, Route, and Funding-This 19-kilometer bypass will include a bridge over the Shiprā River. The first phase involves constructing, widening, and paving 8 kilometers of road. The state government has allocated ₹1214.71 lakhs to the Public Works Department for this phase, which is currently underway.

 Overcoming Obstacles: Forest Land and Government Approvals-The remaining 11 kilometers pass through forest land, causing delays. An online proposal was submitted to the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change. Chief Minister Dhami met with the Union Minister of Environment and Forests to secure approval for the project, highlighting its importance.

 Green Light from the Center: Project Back on Track-The central government approved the project during a recent REC meeting. The Ministry of Environment has given in-principle approval for forest land transfer, paving the way for the completion of the remaining construction work. This approval is a result of the government’s dedicated efforts and will bring significant relief to the people.

Benefits for Pilgrims and the Local Economy-This bypass will alleviate the chronic traffic congestion around Kacchi Dham and Bhavāli. Devotees will find it easier to reach the temple, and locals will experience improved commute times. Furthermore, it’s expected to boost tourism, improving the local economy. The Chief Minister emphasized the bypass’s significance for both pilgrim convenience and regional development.
