Bhopal. Consumers have now understood the benefits of smart meters. This is the reason why 3 thousand 847 smart meters have been installed in Bhopal city so far. These smart meters have been installed in Bhopal’s Danishkunj zone and Bairagarh Chichli zone. Today, the first smart meter was installed in Bhopal city division east. This smart meter was installed at the house of consumer Mr. Mohammad Akhtar in house number 370, Ashok Vihar Colony Bhopal under Chandbar zone. In this way, the pace of installing smart meters is increasing in all the sixteen districts of the company’s area of operation including the capital. Exemption from security fund and first recharge from already deposited security amount.
25 paise per unit discount in domestic and non-domestic (commercial) bills (as per current tariff) and other charges related to energy-charge (such as electricity duty) T.O.D. Surcharge (Power Factor Surcharge) calculated on the basis of reduced electricity rate.
On each payment, discount of 0-5% (minimum Rs. 5) of the bill amount. There is no maximum limit of discount in domestic category, whereas in other categories, the maximum limit of discount is Rs. 20.
Facility of recharge for the next 3 days without disconnection of electricity even after the balance in the meter is exhausted.
Updated (real time) information of electricity consumption and the load being used is available in mobile every 15 minutes, so that electricity bill can be reduced by economical use of electricity.
Daily information of electricity consumption and related electricity charge and balance amount is available in mobile app and portal.
Freedom from human error in meter reading every month and frequent visits to the electricity office for correction in electricity bills.
In case of power supply disruption of power lines, distribution transformer or any consumer, automatic cognizance of power disruption and immediate restoration of power supply.
There is no need to buy new meter-modem if you take solar roof top connection in future.
So far, about 10 lakh meters have been successfully installed in more than 20 districts of Madhya Pradesh including Indore and Jabalpur.
