Bajrang Punia Profile: Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia has been banned for four years by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA). This means he will not be able to participate in any competitive wrestling events during this period, nor can he take on any role with foreign coaches. The ban comes after Punia refused to take a doping test during the national team selection trials, which led to NADA’s decision. His suspension has caused quite a stir in the sports community, with many reactions flooding social media. Bajrang Punia, who has brought pride to India on various international platforms, was born on February 26, 1994, in the village of Khudan in the Jhajjar district of Haryana. He has had a passion for wrestling since childhood, and his family has fully supported him in pursuing this sport.
Despite being born into a modest family, Punia has shown extraordinary talent. His father, Balwan Singh, was also a wrestler and taught his son the basics of the sport. Even though they faced financial difficulties, his parents did everything they could to help him achieve his dreams. Bajrang started wrestling at the age of seven. In addition to his wrestling career, Punia began his political journey in 2024. On September 7, 2024, just before the Haryana Assembly elections, he met with opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and joined the Indian National Congress alongside fellow wrestler Vinesh Phogat. On October 22, 2024, he took on the role of executive president of the All India Kisan Congress.
