Bilaspur:  When a complaint was lodged at the police station about the theft of jewelry and money from the purse kept in the auto, the angry auto driver attacked the brother and sister with a knife. When both of them ran inside the house to save their lives, the accused closed the door from outside and poured petrol in the house and set it on fire. Fortunately, the brother and sister somehow managed to save their lives by running into the courtyard. In this case, the police registered a case of attempted murder against the accused and presented him in the court. After the hearing, the court sentenced the accused to 10 years in jail and a fine of Rs 2,100. What happened that day: Bajrang Kumar Sharma, a resident of Sakri, had gone to Sendri on 25 May 2018 with his elder sister Lata Tiwari to get his ailing mother treated. He kept his purse and bag in the auto of Gopal Pandey, a resident of Sakri, and went to the hospital. But when he returned, he saw that the jewelry and money were missing from the purse. On this, Bajrang filed a report at the police station. The accused had been harboring a grudge since then: After this report, Vicky alias Bhupendra Pandey, son of auto driver Gopal, started having enmity with Bajrang and his family. One day he asked Lata for water, and when she came out to give him water, Vicky started abusing her and also threatened to kill her. Hearing the noise, Bajrang also came out.

Then Vicky attacked both of them with a knife. To save themselves, both ran inside the house, but Vicky closed the door from outside and set it on fire by sprinkling petrol. The fire was so fierce that the house was completely burnt. But Lata and her family members somehow escaped by running into the courtyard. Neighbors saved their lives: The people nearby extinguished the fire in time and took the family members out. After the report of the case was registered in the police station, the police presented the accused in the court. Court’s decision: Second Additional Sessions Judge Santosh Kumar Mahobia sentenced Vicky to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 500 under section 307 (attempt to murder), 3 years imprisonment and Rs 200 under section 506B, 3 years imprisonment and Rs 200 under section 25 of the Arms Act, and 3 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 200 under section 27. The accused is already in jail: Vicky was first banished from the district on the orders of the collector, but after a few days he started living in the city again and started smuggling drugs. When the police got information about this, the team of Civil Line police station surrounded him and his partner in Talapara and caught them and presented them in the court. He was sent to jail on the orders of the court, and currently he is in jail in this case.
