Delhi. Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur interacted with sports champions invited by the Government of India as special guests at the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi.
On this occasion, Anurag Singh Thakur said that India is progressing in every direction and the Indian economy has become the fifth largest economy in the world. He also said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India will become the third largest economy in the next five years. He also said that the stories of athletes are very inspiring and the success stories of athletes inspire other players.
He also said that India has strengthened itself in terms of security and due to the contribution of athletes, India has also strengthened its soft power. He thanked the athletes for coming as guests at the Republic Day celebrations at the invitation of the President of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The athletes who participated in the interaction thanked the Union Minister and the Government of India for inviting them to be a part of the Republic Day celebrations while on duty yesterday.
Talking about his journey from watching the Republic Day celebrations on television to seeing it in real life, Indian boxer Mr. Gaurav Bhaduri said that he is very excited to be a part of the Republic Day celebrations and has realized his childhood dream. Thanked the Government of India for helping.
Indian Paralympic athlete and shooter Mr. Singhraj Adhana shared his journey to become a shooter and praised TOPS and Khelo India program for making it possible for athletes across India to achieve their potential in the sport.
A total of 12 athletes have been invited as special guests to witness the Republic Day celebrations.
