Piyush Goyal’s assurance – Piyush Goyal, while talking to the media on Friday, said that there is no reason to stop the Amarnath Yatra despite the attack in Pahalgam. He said, “Tourism in Kashmir will resume soon. No one can deter Kashmir from its path of development.” His statement is a relief news for all the devotees who are waiting for this Yatra. Goyal also said that the people of India are capable and confident that tourism activities will resume in Kashmir. He made it clear that India will not allow terrorism to flourish and no kind of security will be ignored.
Importance of Amarnath Yatra – Every year lakhs of devotees apply for the Amarnath Yatra. This yatra is an important religious journey for the followers of Hinduism. This year the registration for the yatra has started from April 15. However, after the attack in Pahalgam, the enthusiasm of some devotees has decreased. Many steps will be taken regarding security for organizing the yatra. This includes tight security at transit camps, use of drones and other electronic surveillance. The number of security personnel will also be increased so that the devotees can experience a safe journey.
Registration process – This year the registration process for Amarnath Yatra has started from April 15. Registration is being done in 533 branches of Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, and Yes Bank across the country. The yatra will start simultaneously from July 3 from the Pahalgam track in Anantnag district and Baltal in Ganderbal district. For registration, devotees will have to follow the Aadhaar based biometric process, and a nominal fee will also be charged for this. This will ensure that all the devotees participating in the Yatra are healthy and safe.
