Alternative medical methods are also necessary for the treatment of animals: Animal Husbandry Minister Shri Patel
Bhopal: Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Independent Charge, Shri Lakhan Patel has said that the use of alternative veterinary practices is also necessary for the proper treatment of animal diseases. At present, due to modern medical system, the increasing resistance to anti-bacterial medicines in humans and animals is taking the form of an epidemic, which is becoming a terrible global threat. Due to modern medical system and misuse of antibiotics, its side effects are being seen in humans and animals, due to which the global problem of AMR (Anti Microbial Resistance) has arisen. The use of alternate veterinary practices like Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Traditional Medicine, Unani Medicine etc. is extremely necessary, so that animals can be treated easily at low cost without any side effects.
Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Shri Patel inaugurated a two-day workshop on “Alternative Medicine System for Animals” at Hotel Palash Residency on Tuesday. Former Uttar Pradesh Minister Shri Mahendra Singh, Shri Abhay Mahajan of Deendayal Shodh Sansthan Chitrakoot, Chairman, Veterinary Council of India Dr. Umeshchand Sharma, Director, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Dr. P S Patel etc. were present in the workshop. 13 subject experts from different states of the country and more than 100 departmental officers participated in the workshop.
Minister of State for Animal Husbandry Shri Patel said that traditional and alternative veterinary medicine was used in India since ancient times, and this workshop has been organised to promote it once again in animal treatment and to make it accessible to the masses. He expressed hope that the brainstorming of subject experts in this two-day workshop will yield important suggestions in the field of veterinary medicine.
