Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Shri Dattopant Thengadi, who had a personality of a sage, lit himself like a lamp and provided the light of his thoughts to the society. His thoughts in the field of agriculture, condition of workers and Swadeshi are like a bright star, which will continue to guide the society. His role as a founding member of the Vidyarthi Parishad was also important. He saw Hindutva as world brotherhood beyond nationalism. He believed that the idea of Hindutva in the animate and inanimate world extends to man, society, nation and humanity. In the present times, his thoughts have become more contemporary, the whole world is looking towards India with hope for guidance and solutions to various problems. India can play this role only on the basis of ancient Indian knowledge tradition. In this perspective, the need for research on various dimensions of Indian knowledge tradition increases, along with the government, society will also have to contribute in the field of research. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing on the occasion of Bhoomi Pujan and commencement of work of the new campus building of Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute. Thinker and writer Mr. Suresh Soni Saraswat was present as guest in the program.
The annual souvenir of the research institute ‘Sanket Rekha’ was released
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav garlanded the picture of Baba Mahakal in a program organized on Link Road Number Three on the occasion of Basantotsav and participated as the chief guest in the Bhoomi Pujan and commencement of work. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also planted a sapling at the Bhoomi Pujan site. He lit the lamp in the stage program and offered floral tribute by garlanding the picture of Mother Saraswati and revered Dattopant Thengadi ji. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav released the annual souvenir ‘Sanket Rekha’ of Dattopant Thengadi Shodh Sansthan. Along with this, he also released the poster of the National Researchers Meet organized by the institute from 01 to 03 March 2025.
It is necessary to use the energy and power of knowledge for the benefit of society
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that historically, Gurukuls and universities present in India express the knowledge power of Indian society. According to Indian culture, it is the feeling of attaining salvation while living that a person can use every moment of life for the benefit of society. Indian thoughts inspire a person to love and brotherhood instead of conflict. There is a great need for initiatives like Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute for holistic research on various aspects of Indianness including tribal society. He said that the new education policy implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi gives more importance to practical experience instead of bookish knowledge. Using this, we will have to move towards research that ensures the interest and benefit of humanity. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Bhoomi Pujan of Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute, which took place on the occasion of Basant Panchami along with the worship of Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, will pave the way to use the energy and power of knowledge for the benefit of society.
We will have to follow the trinity of abundance in production, equality in distribution and moderation in consumption
Thinker and writer Shri Suresh Soni said that Shri Dattopant Thengadi ji was the manifestation of Indian sage wisdom. His specialty was to keep Indian philosophy at the center in all spheres of life. From personal life to world peace, his thoughts ranged from topics of his own. Forgetfulness and lack of correct information is the problem of Indian academic world. Referring to Macaulay’s education policy, he said that in place of life values like self-centeredness and consumerism, it is necessary to establish Indian life values like sacrifice, restraint, dedication and develop Indian perspective to understand Indianness. He said that there is a need to make holistic efforts towards making education, culture and research India-centric. According to the thoughts of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, society and nation will have to be built on the basis of the tri-sutra of abundance in production, equality in distribution and restraint in consumption. For this purpose, there is a need to give direction to research.
Madhya Pradesh will become a major center for fundamental research
Author Shri Soni said that as much as man is important in nature, so are the fauna, flora, mountains and water structures etc. It is also important to note that the more prudent a person is, the greater is his responsibility in preserving nature and protecting the interests of all. From this point of view, man’s responsibility in maintaining the balance of nature increases a lot, this is the process of looking at it from the Indian point of view. He expressed confidence that Dattopant Thengadi Research Institute will expand multi-dimensional research activities from this Indian point of view and Madhya Pradesh will become the main center of fundamental research in the entire country. He called for cooperation from everyone in achieving this objective.
Shri Thengadi brought about a revolution in thought centered on India
Higher Education Minister Shri Inder Singh Parmar said that Shri Thengadi brought about an India-centric thought revolution. His contributions to the farmers, workers as well as in the field of education have contributed significantly in enriching the Indian knowledge tradition. He said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the research institutes of the state will help in bringing forth the scientific approach inherent in Indian traditions. Innovations in the field of research will establish new dimensions and a better environment for research will also be created in the state. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture, Tourism, Religious Trusts and Endowments Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi said that revered Thengadi ji was a unique amalgamation of patriotism and modernity. He wanted to develop the country on the basis of Indian Sanatan knowledge and education. The research institute dedicated to him will play an important role in bringing various aspects of the Indian knowledge tradition to the society. President of Dattopant Thengadi Institute Shri Ashok Pandey said that Shri Thengadi’s personality was refined and polished in the national stream. Through his thoughts, he continuously inspired the society for the victory of light over darkness, prosperity over poverty and knowledge over ignorance. Officials, subject experts and researchers from various universities and academic institutions participated in the program.
