Raipur 08 October 2024 : During my tenure as an MP, my residence at North Avenue in Delhi was the second home for the patients and relatives of Chhattisgarh and the region. Patients going to Delhi for treatment used to stay there and get their treatment done. People used to tell me that your house is a mini AIIMS. Serving patients was the work of most interest to me and this work gives me the most satisfaction. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said this while addressing the White Coat Ceremony organized by Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Center.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai gave his best wishes to all the students studying MBBS for joining this work of serving the patients. On this occasion, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Finance Minister OP Chaudhary, MLA Indra Kumar Sahu and Ravi Shankar Ji Maharaj along with professors, doctors and students of the medical college were present. Dean of the college Dr. Kundan E. Gedam administered the oath of medical code of conduct to the students entering the MBBS course.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, while addressing the program, said that medical science, apart from being a good career for the youth, also provides an opportunity to serve the people. He said that life is the most precious treasure and you people provide Sanjeevani to the people with good treatment, that is why people consider doctors like God. He said that all of you should do your work with full service, the blessings you will get from this will bring more happiness and prosperity in your life. During this, Chief Minister Sai also informed about the release of Rs 231 crore for the expansion of Ambedkar Hospital and construction of a 700-bed hospital. He said that after the completion of the hospital building, the capacity of Ambedkar Hospital will be 2 thousand patients. He told that work is being done to increase the seats of MBBS as well as PG in the state. The Chief Minister also informed about the decision to start PG seats of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Dermatology in Raigarh Medical College.
Chief Minister Sai said that along with our 10 government medical colleges, private sector medical colleges are also playing a strong role in strengthening medical education in the state and preparing a new generation of promising doctors.
He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the last decade, medical education in Chhattisgarh has expanded more than ever before, its direct effect is visible in the health services of the state. On this occasion, the Chief Minister, while remembering former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, said that he gave the gift of AIIMS to Chhattisgarh, which has emerged as a major center of medical facilities not only for Chhattisgarh but also for the patients of the surrounding areas.
The Chief Minister said that just as my residence in Delhi was always open for patients and their families when I was an MP, similarly, today as the head of the state, this work of service is continuing through Kunkuri Sadan.
Health Minister Jaiswal, while addressing the medical students, said that all of you will become good doctors. Service is primary in this profession, employment comes later. If all of you join this profession considering it as service, then the state will always benefit from it. He said that the establishment of private institutions in the field of health in the state will also help in fulfilling the objectives of the government. Minister Jaiswal also shared information about medical education, health infrastructure and the efforts of the state government in the field of health in the state.
Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary said that all of you students entering medical education today will bring glory to the state along with your parents. You will contribute in making India a developed nation. Our youth are making their mark at the national and international level. The Finance Minister said that we will establish Nava Raipur as a growth hub of the service sector. Our government is trying to establish Raipur as a health care destination, so that the people of the state can get high level health services.
Chief Minister virtually inaugurated the boys and girls hostel building
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai virtually inaugurated the newly constructed hostel building for the students of the medical college during the White Court Ceremony of Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Medical Science and Research. He congratulated all the medical students for the hostel building.
It is worth noting that a new hostel building has been constructed for the students of Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Medical Sciences, in which 120 seats have been made for girls and 100 seats for boys.
