All zone commissioners should make every possible effort to ensure that there is no waterlogging in any house – Mayor Meenal Choubey

Start preparing from now to provide good drinking water facilities in the upcoming summer, no negligence will be tolerated in solving the water crisis.
Instructions to the zone commissioners to provide information about the drinking water arrangements being made by the Municipal Corporation in the Mayor’s private residential colonies within a week.
The Mayor and Commissioner reviewed the works of the Water Works Department and Health Department and gave necessary instructions.
Raipur – Today, Raipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Geenal Chaubey and Commissioner Vishwadeep reviewed the works of the Municipal Corporation Water Works Department and Health Department in the third floor hall of the Corporation Headquarters Building Mahatma Gandhi Sadan and gave necessary instructions to all the zone commissioners. Mayor Meenal Chaubey has given clear instructions that it is the responsibility of the zone commissioners to ensure that no house in the wards of their zone area gets waterlogged during the rains. For this, the zone commissioner should make as much effort as possible along with his team. Mayor Meenal Chaubey said that it is the responsibility of all zone commissioners to get all the necessary administrative work done by coordinating with the ward councilors towards making all the wards under the entire zone clean, beautiful, developed and organized. For this, all the zone commissioners should discharge their duties with utmost hard work and honesty in the zone area, fulfilling this responsibility along with their team. The Mayor has directed all the zone commissioners to start preparations for the summer in the coming year 2026 by putting the engineers of the water department of the zones on the field in the wards. No negligence will be tolerated in the work related to solving the water problem in the wards of any zone.
Mayor Meenal Chaubey has directed all the zone commissioners to provide information regarding the drinking water arrangement being done by Raipur Municipal Corporation for the residents of private residential colonies of private builders, colonizers located in 70 wards of all 10 zones of Raipur Municipal Corporation area within the next one week. Mayor Meenal Chaubey has instructed the zone commissioners and executive engineers to get the potholes in the roads filled in all the zones due to the heavy rains in the past few days, so that the citizens and drivers do not face any inconvenience for smooth traffic in the capital city area. The Mayor gave necessary instructions to all the zone commissioners regarding getting the disinfection work done on priority by running a campaign by pouring bleaching powder solution in about 2200 power pumps and about 700 hand pumps in the city in 3 phases as per the instructions given earlier, for effective prevention of waterborne diseases in the rainy season after summer. Under this, 2 phases of disinfection of power pumps and hand pumps have been completed. The third phase is proposed to be done in 70 wards of 10 zones simultaneously on 30 July 2025. In this regard, the Mayor has given necessary instructions to all the zone commissioners to run a comprehensive campaign in all power pumps and hand pumps for effective prevention of waterborne diseases during the rainy season.
Commissioner Vishwadeep has directed all the zone commissioners to ensure that all the instructions given by Mayor Meenal Chaubey are followed in the zones and wards. The commissioner has instructed all the zone commissioners to ensure that the action of continuously imposing fines on the persons and shopkeepers who are spreading unhygienic environment by spreading dirt in the market areas and commercial areas is improved by running an intensive campaign. The commissioner has instructed all the zone commissioners to take necessary action to prevent the problem of waterlogging in the wards and to maintain special vigilance and awareness during the monsoon. The commissioner has instructed the officers to take necessary action to establish a good drinking water system on priority before the start of the upcoming summer season in the areas which have been suffering from water crisis during summer. During the review meeting of the works of the Corporation’s Water Works and Health Department by Mayor Meenal Choubey and Commissioner Vishwadeep, Water Works Department Chairman Santosh Seema Sahu, Health Department Chairman Gayatri Sunil Chandrakar, Public Works Department Chairman Deepak Jaiswal, Additional Commissioner Vinod Pandey, Chief Engineer UK, Ghalendra, Superintending Engineer Rajesh Rathore, all zone commissioners, executive engineers, zone health officers were present.
