Academic and cultural activities will be organized in universities and colleges: Higher Education Minister Parmar

Bhopal. A meeting of the “Indian Knowledge Tradition Top Committee” was held in the Ministry under the chairmanship of Higher Education, Technical Education and AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar. In the meeting, information about university/divisional workshops and training of teachers through all universities keeping in view the Indian knowledge tradition was reviewed. Minister Shri Parmar discussed various points in detail and directed to organize various academic and cultural activities in all universities and colleges keeping in view the “Indian Knowledge Tradition Various References”. In the meeting, the list of books for the Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell was reviewed and approved, as well as the examination of the list of books by the authors of Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Academy by experts was also discussed. While reviewing the syllabus of the first year of graduation, Minister Shri Parmar directed to complete the syllabus preparation by 20 November 2024, preparation of manuscript by identified authors by 31 January 2025, testing of manuscript by February 2025 and publication of books by May 2025.

Minister Shri Parmar said that the textbooks should include the faith of the local community / tribal community, contribution in the freedom movement, respect for nature and a sense of coordination. Students participating in cultural activities should be rewarded. Shri Parmar said that students should be taken on a tour of study centers in different areas of the country. Society should be motivated to contribute for education. Participation of society should be obtained by running a campaign like Vidyadaan.

Information about University/Divisional Workshops

In the meeting, Commissioner Higher Education Mr. Nishant Barvade informed that in the last 3 months, workshops were organized on a total of 26 subjects including 18 subjects of graduation level in 26 universities. One-day workshops were organized on 24 subjects in the last 2 months in 10 divisions. A one-day workshop was organized at Rajashankar Shah University, Chhindwara. Keeping in view the Indian knowledge tradition, teachers will be trained from 5 November to 24 December through all universities. Under this, the science group includes Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, B.H.S.C./B.Sc., Mathematics subjects. The social science group includes sociology, political science, history, geography. The literature and psychology group includes English literature, Hindi literature, music, Sanskrit literature, psychology, philosophy. The commerce group includes economics, commerce group.

In the meeting, the outline of lectures/symposium by experts in the context of incorporating Indian knowledge tradition in the respective major and minor subjects, lectures by experts on the topic of “Making teaching learning interesting”, examination conduct and evaluation method were discussed.

Keeping in view the “Indian knowledge tradition various contexts”, various academic and cultural activities will be organized in all universities, colleges. These activities include speech competition related to Indian knowledge tradition, essay competition, poster competition, Indian cultural folk dance, Indian cultural folk song, general knowledge competition related to Indian knowledge tradition. College level event will be held in all colleges, this event will be held between 21 to 26 October. District level event will be held in the leading college of the concerned district between 5 to 9 November. Division level event will be held in the leading college of the concerned division between 25 to 29 November and state level event will be held in the leading college of Bhopal division between 10 to 14 December 2024.
