A wave of faith surged in the Sri Krishna Janmashtami festival: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai participated
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai wished the people of the state on Janmashtami, followed the tradition of Dahi-Handi
Raipur 17 August 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai attended the Janmashtami festival and Dahi-Handi competition organized at Gudhiyari in the capital Raipur. He extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of the state on Shri Krishna Janmashtami and prayed to Lord Krishna for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state. On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai symbolically broke the Dahi-Handi and followed the tradition of the festival and showed affection by feeding sweets to the little children dressed as Radha-Krishna.
Chief Minister Sai said in his address that we are all fortunate that we are residents of a holy state like Chhattisgarh, which is the maternal home of Lord Shri Ram and the maternal home of Mother Kaushalya. He called upon the devotees present to make continuous efforts to make the Sanatan culture more strong and prosperous. Chief Minister Sai said that the state government is committed to the preservation and promotion of religious and cultural heritage. He said that the government is working for the overall development of all the major Shaktipeeths and pilgrimage sites of the state including Bhoramdev temple. Along with this, devotees are also being provided the facility of visiting various holy places through Ramlala Darshan Yojana and Chief Minister Tirth Yatra Darshan Yojana. Chief Minister Sai congratulated the organizer Basant Agarwal and his team for the successful conduct of this grand event. In the program, MLA Kiran Dev and Pawan Sai also addressed the devotees and wished them on the holy festival of Janmashtami. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Tank Ram Verma, Chairman of Chhattisgarh State Civil Supplies Corporation Sanjay Srivastava, Mayor Meenal Choubey, Rajiv Lochan Maharaj, other public representatives and a large number of devotees were present on this occasion.
