Congratulated the Chief Minister by presenting a loom on National Handloom Day

Special efforts are being made for the respect, prosperity and empowerment of weavers in the state – Chief Minister

Raipur, 07 August 2025: On the occasion of National Handloom Day, a delegation of Chhattisgarh Weavers Society paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai at the Chief Minister’s residence office in the capital Raipur. Chief Minister Sai extended a warm welcome to all the representatives and wished them a very Happy National Handloom Day. Appreciating the weavers community, the Chief Minister said that handloom art is our rich heritage, which gives a unique identity to the state and strengthens our cultural identity. The Chief Minister said that the weavers community of Chhattisgarh is increasing the pride of the state through its labor, skill and creativity. Chief Minister Sai said that the state government is making multi-dimensional efforts for the prosperity, empowerment and self-reliance of weavers. From making raw material available to reducing costs and providing better marketing facilities, schemes are being effectively implemented on every front. He said that only the self-reliance of weavers can give new heights to their creative flight.

Referring to the mantra of “Vocal for Local” given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister said that this is the time to encourage our traditional products and skills. The handloom industry is not only a means of livelihood, but is a living symbol of cultural consciousness, which the weaver community still preserves. On this occasion, the members of the community presented a replica of the loom (traditional machine for weaving cloth) made by the weavers to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister said that this gift of yours is not only a symbol of your respect and sentiments, but also a symbol of creation, tradition and cultural values of our state. Chief Minister Sai assured that the Chhattisgarh government is fully committed to every possible support to the weaver community and is giving top priority to their all-round development. He said that the coming time will be of respect, prosperity and empowerment of weavers. On this occasion, National Vice President of Weavers Society Mahesh Devangan, Purushottam Devangan, Dhanesh Devangan, Gajendra Devangan and other senior members were present.
