
Following a rally in global markets, Indian benchmark equity indices opened with gains for the third consecutive session on Tuesday. Shares of Reliance Industries as well as financial and IT sectors contributed to the strength of the market. According to the fourth quarter results of Reliance Group, the company’s profit has gone ahead of estimates.
At around 9.22 am on Tuesday, BSE Sensex was trading 314 points or 0.42% higher at 73,947. Nifty was trading at 22,426 with a gain of 90 points or 0.40%.
Bharti Airtel, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Titan and HCL Tech were seen trading as top Sensex contributors and kept the index up. On the contrary, shares of Power Grid, Mahindra & Mahindra and ICICI Bank came under pressure.
