Delhi. The Election Commission has announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said that Lok Sabha elections will be held in the country in seven phases. The election process for the first phase will start from March 16. After all seven phases of voting, counting of votes will take place simultaneously on June 4.
In a press conference held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, the Chief Election Commissioner along with newly appointed Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu along with senior departmental officials announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections. Along with the Lok Sabha elections, Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar also announced the dates of assembly elections to be held in four states. Sikkim notification on March 20 and counting of votes on April 19, Arunachal Pradesh notification on March 20, vote counting on April 19 and Andhra Pradesh notification on April 18, election on May 13 and in Odisha elections will be held in five phases.
