Raipur. Under the Lok Sabha Elections-2024, training of members of Static Surveillance Team and Flying Squad regarding stopping transportation of illegal materials and taking action was organized in the Red Cross meeting room. In the training conducted under the guidance of Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh, the members of the static monitoring team were directed to be present at the concerned check post with the entire team at the stipulated time and check the vehicles passing through there. Seize any kind of illegal material or illicit liquor which is meant for election sponsorship and take appropriate action and also inform the senior officials. Deputy District Election Officer Umashankar Bande, Joint Collector Abhilasha Paikra and master trainers Dr. Ajit Hundet and Dr. Rakesh Derhagve and other officers were present in this training.
In the training organized in the Red Cross meeting room, master trainers explained the tasks and responsibilities of the static monitoring team. It was told in the training that the SST team should work continuously as per the instructions of the Election Commission. During checking at the check post, illegal transportation of 2 vehicles, campaign material without documents, transportation of suspicious material and items to influence voters, unauthorized banners, posters, campaign material, campaign vehicle without permission and more than Rs 50,000 were seized from the vehicle. But action will be taken as per rules. FIR will be lodged by the authorized magistrate during the proceedings. Shri Bande instructed the static team Flying Squad to take action impartially and transparently. He said that during the entire investigation, videography should be done and suspicious materials should be seized, an FIR should be filed and the case should be presented in the court.
Have to fill daily report
Details of the daily action taken by the static monitoring team at the check post will have to be given through Form C. The footage cassette and memory card related to the videography of the daily proceedings will have to be made available to the expenditure accounting team. Information about any action will have to be given to the Returning Officer and Superintendent of Police.
Income tax officers will examine jewelery worth Rs 10 lakh or more
During the Lok Sabha elections 2024, if cash worth ten lakh rupees or more or gold and silver worth this amount is seized from any person, it will be immediately seized and the Income Tax Department officials will be informed. Authorized officers of the Income Tax Department will examine the seized money and jewellery. Further action will be taken only after the FIR is registered and the documents regarding the seized money and jewelery are examined.
All vehicles will be checked
It was said in the training that there is a need to be constantly alert to ensure that illegal materials are not transported from one place to another for election sponsorship in any way. All types of vehicles passing through the check post should be checked.
