National news : Gyanesh Kumar Gupta and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu appointed as Election Commissioners

The high level committee under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved two names for recruitment to the vacant posts of two commissioners in the Election Commission. The committee has appointed Gyanesh Kumar Gupta and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu as election commissioners. Both of them are retired IS. Both have retired from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) at different times. The posts of both the Commissioners of the Election Commission were vacant first with the retirement of Anup Chandra Pandey in February and then recently with the resignation of Arun Goyal.
