The Central Government had declared the second and fourth Saturday of the month as public holiday through a notification in the year 2015. Since then all banks follow the system of holiday on second and fourth Saturday. At present more than 15 lakh employees are associated with the banking sector. Regional rural banks have approximately 95,000 employees.
