National news: JCB Literature Foundation launches the first multi-sensory, inclusive-learning

Jaipur. JCB Literature Foundation in collaboration with Access for All, launched its special Accessible Learning Box – Sugamya Qissa Pitara at Umang Center of Special Education in Jaipur this Friday. This is the second special effort of the Foundation, after launching the first such resource center at Samadhan Kendra in Dwarka, Delhi in January this year.
The accessible storybook is not just a learning tool; This is a transformative learning experience. Featuring diverse tools such as large font, sensory, silent and behavioral books for special needs, this initiative addresses the special needs of visually impaired children through tactile and sensory books with Braille and large font, accessible to all Designed with universal design principles, each accessible storybook is safe and easy to use, with a personalized feel, featuring exclusive furniture created by expert artists to enhance the learning environment. Gives an impression of inclusivity. Equipped with sensory mats for better cognitive development, this playpen ensures a safe setting for educational experiences.
Talking about the initiative, Manish Tayal, Director, JCB Literature Foundation, said, “This is a milestone for us at JCB Literature Foundation, not just because it is the first time we have launched an accessible resource center for special needs children. establishment – but also because of the impact such a project has on people’s lives. The project aims to make the lives of not only children easier, but also parents, primary caregivers and teachers. We are piloting this project in Pune and Baroda after Delhi and Jaipur in the first year and hope to take it to more places in the future.” Sugamya Qissa Pitara also supports parents and carers with new books, activities and special training delivered by inclusive learning experts to become more inclusive. Specially designed manuals for caregivers in Hindi and English provide invaluable insight and support to foster a learning environment at home in an effective manner.

According to UNESCO, there are more than 78 lakh children with disabilities in the age group of 5-19 in India. Of which 61% were studying in some educational institution and about 12% had dropped out, while 27% had never attended school. Recognizing the urgent need for accessible and inclusive education, this initiative aims to increase access to education and foster enthusiasm for learning for children with special needs across the country. With a shared vision of empowering every child, this innovative educational initiative strives to bridge the education gap and create a more inclusive educational landscape.
