International news: Results of 14 seats, tough competition between candidates supported by Imran and Sharif's party

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced the first results of the elections early Friday, more than 10 hours after voting ended, amid allegations of rigging, sporadic violence and mobile phone shutdown across the country. ECP Special Secretary Zafar Iqbal announced the first results at a press conference in Islamabad around 3 am on Friday.

Imran supporters won 10 seats
If reports are to be believed, results of 14 seats have come so far. Independents supported by Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf captured 10 seats. Nawaz’s party PML-N has won eight seats and Bilawal’s party PPP has won five seats.

Nawaz Sharif lost from Mansehra seat
According to local media, Nawaz Sharif has lost the election from Mansehra seat. Independent candidate Shahzada Gastasap gave him a crushing defeat. Shahzada Gastasap got 74,713 votes, while Nawaz had to be content with 63,054 votes.

Results of 14 seats have come so far
Cricketer-turned-politician and founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, 71, is in jail. He was barred from contesting elections. The PTI candidate is contesting the election as an independent after being denied permission to use the party’s election symbol ‘cricket bat’. Meanwhile, there are reports that the pro-Imran candidates are performing brilliantly. Meanwhile, many reports are coming in regarding the delay in the election results and allegations of manipulation in the results are being made.
