Voting is to be held in Pakistan on February 8. The Election Commission has started the distribution of 26 crore ballot papers for 859 constituencies of the National Assembly and provincial assemblies. Voting will be held for 336 seats in the lower house of Parliament and four provincial assemblies.

About 18 thousand candidates are in the fray for the National Assembly and provincial assemblies of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan.

The spokesperson said that this time 2,170 tonnes of paper was used for the printing process, which is the highest since 2018. The number of ballot papers has increased to 26 crore, which is four crore more than the ballot papers of the last general election. He said that despite the short time and challenges, the Commission has completed the printing of ballot papers on time.
The spokesperson said, the process of distribution of ballot papers has started across the country and it will be completed by Monday evening. The Commission has also created a Central Control and Monitoring Center to resolve any election related complaint. Which has received 221 complaints of various types. Out of them, 198 complaints have been resolved. The spokesperson said complaints have been received from some election officials regarding the election management system and their problems are being resolved.
