Fertilizer was received on time, hopes blossomed, Santosh’s hard work will pay off

Hopeful paddy will flourish in Santosh’s fields of Korkoma

Raipur, 14 August 2025: Today, satisfaction and happiness are visible on Santosh Kesharwani’s face. Santosh and his family have got peace of mind after going for fertilizer on time for the paddy crop in their field. Actually, some reports of shortage of fertilizer for paddy crop in the current Kharif season had increased Santosh’s restlessness. But on the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, farmers in the state are getting sufficient amount of fertilizer from the societies on time. Just yesterday, due to the special efforts of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the Central Government has also approved the release of additional allocation of fertilizer for the farmers of Chhattisgarh. The Central Government has allocated additional 50 thousand tonnes of DAP and 50 thousand tonnes of urea to Chhattisgarh. Now the work of Ropa Bayasi in paddy crop in the state is going on rapidly. In such a situation, farmers need fertilizer for the rapid growth of paddy plants. Phosphatic fertilizer is needed more at this time. Due to availability of sufficient quantity of fertilizers on time, sowing of the fields of marginal farmer Santosh Kesarwani of Korkoma village of Korba district became easy and a better start of the crop was possible. Expressing happiness, Kesarwani said that the field is our support, due to the promptness of the government and the committee, he has got the fertilizers, seeds etc. necessary for farming on time. With this help, his farming has got new energy.

Farmer Santosh said that he has about 5 acres of land, since the beginning of the Kharif season, he has been trying for better production, due to timely rains, there was no problem from plowing the fields to preparing the plants. In this season, the necessary fertilizers were also available on time from the committees. He told that in this Kharif season, he has purchased 7-7 bags of DAP, urea and super phosphate fertilizers as per his requirement from Korkoma cooperative society, for which he did not face any problem, nor did he have to visit the committee again and again. As soon as he presented the necessary documents in the committee, he was provided fertilizer through KCC. Santosh told that last Kharif year he had sold about 92 quintals of paddy. This time he has been working hard for a better crop with the whole family from the very beginning. Due to timely sowing of the field, his crop is looking good, his hard work is paying off, further irrigation will be done as per the need and fertilizer will also be sprayed from time to time. He said that his farming is not only a means of livelihood now, but has also become a crop of hope. He says, the way the government and the cooperative society arranged for fertilizer and seeds on time, small farmers like us have got a lot of relief. This initiative has not only reduced their financial burden, but has also increased their confidence.
