98 disaster affected families got relief in Dharali, each family got support of Rs 5 lakhs

 Dehradun Disaster Relief: Hope for 98 Affected Families-This past month, a devastating natural disaster struck Dharali, Dehradun, leaving 98 families heartbroken and displaced. But amidst the rubble and despair, a beacon of hope has emerged. The state government has stepped up, providing each affected family with a substantial ₹500,000 (five lakh rupees) in financial aid. Gangothri MLA, Suresh Singh Chauhan, personally distributed the checks, offering a lifeline to those who have lost so much.

 Devastation and Immediate Response-The disaster, which unfolded on August 5th, involved torrential rainfall, landslides, and devastating debris flows in Uttarkashi and Pauri districts. Homes were completely destroyed, infrastructure crumbled, and families were left homeless and destitute. This aid package aims to provide immediate relief, enabling families to secure essential needs like temporary shelter, clothing, and food. It’s a crucial first step towards rebuilding their lives and securing a stable future.

 Chief Minister’s Swift Action and Comprehensive Plan-Following the disaster, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami immediately visited the affected areas. He made the on-the-spot announcement of the ₹5 lakh aid, which is now being fulfilled in Dharali. This initial support is just the beginning. A three-member committee has been formed to assess the damage to homes, livestock, orchards, and other property. Their report, due within seven days, will inform the creation of a comprehensive relief and rehabilitation package. The government’s commitment extends beyond immediate aid; it aims to provide long-term support for a complete recovery.

A Promise of Unity and Reconstruction-Chief Minister Dhami expressed deep empathy, stating that the affected people are part of one big family.
